I was told to do rifleman by my 3rd holo. At first I thought it wouldnt be so bad, but in the past 2 days ive gotten about 20K exp. I have no idea what to kill, and whenever I try and kill something semi good, i land a few hits unnoticed and then get charged at by the creature and then just give up and get incapped. Can anyone give me some tips on what I should do? Im getting so frustrated im thinking about just giving up.

without a pet it isnt easy.
i went all the way to conceal shot without a pet but at the time i was also a bounty hunter so i had something to finish the thing off when it closed on me.
get a fast low ham rifle like a DLT20a experimented for damage and sliced for speed. use powerups on it and headshot things. use traps to slow creatures down. with trap use you can take out most things. its worth mastering scout just for that while leveling. the more skills you have in scout the bigger and more effective your traps are.
once you get to novice rifle switch to a laser that has been speed sliced and rinse repeat till you get to flushing shot2. once you reach master and see true power you will be thinking "Jedi who????"
if you have a decent pet or are a CH it goes a lot faster.

scobra, you may want to post your current skills. Hard to give advice without knowing what you have to work with. Like Barb said, if you are CH, use a pet to tank. If you are a scout, use traps to slow them down. I'd say join some of the squill hunting parties, hang in the back and shoot away for awhile to earn your first xp. Getting conceal shot willallowyou to take larger critters earlier on, it just means your battles are longer (and your dependent on spice).
It's a long grind. I've been working on Master Rifleman since I started. Just need that combat xp now.
