what is this?? I've tried it before and it didn't hide me or anything. I just got aggroed like normal. so I came to the conclusion I was not using it properly... so I came to you...

and there was much rejoicing...

Take cover is currently worthless and will always stay worthless.

CM's are like nukes. You have them just incase you need them, but as soon as you start using yours the other guys start using theirs and everything goes to hell-PyschoticChipmunk -The First line of the Riflenomican.

Cover adds defensive bonuses. That means it makes you harder to hit, not harder to see. Think in terms of getting behind something to keep from getting hit as easily as you would if you were out in the open, not in terms of getting under something so you cannot be detected.

That said, PsycoJuggalo is pretty close to being right. I have not noticed that big of a difference between the damage I take while under cover vs. while not. So for the effort it takes to actually take cover (i.e., failing more often than not), it is not really worth using it. Supriseshot is supposed to be only useable under cover, but that apparently is not the case right now, so it is kind of a useless skill.

If I am in cover no one can't shoot me at all.

I use /takecover most while doing GCW stuff and never while hunting. I'll sneak up on some unsuspecting Imps, throw on some camo, drop to cover and conceal away. It usually does a great job in keeping me from serious damage as long as the NPCs I'm firing on don't decide to run up on me TK style. That's what pets are for though.
