Thread: Which rifle for early grind?
Up to novice I used a spraystick on regular quenkers, once I hit novice I used a speedsliced for until countersniping 2 and after that I just used my DXR-6b rifle... going for flushing2 first. I done it with t21 solely on quenkers as well, but now I get xp from shooting rebel NPC's at player bases... this works good I think for me, better then when I headshot/concealed shot quenkers with t21 when I did rifleman before.

Bermag,
Welcome to Rifleman. I used mostly a Laser Rifle with a damage slice and damage powerup. The Laser Rifle is faster than the T21 and the HAM costs were a bit lower. But this was in the time before buffs, armor, and good Chef foods.
Speed is going to be slow for awhile. Use your Combat XP to go up in Rifleman Abilities as soon as you can. Dantooine is a good location to grind XP for the combat professions. Queker missions are popular since you can HeadShot them fairly easily.
Don't be afraid to use Aim. It will increase your hit chances which is very helpful at lower levels. Especially if using ConcealShot.
Your Laser Rifle seems to be fairly good. As for putting a speed or damage powerup on it. Best thing is to figure out the damage over a one minute period. See which way it would come out ahead.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me in game. I'm on the same server as you.

I disagree that damage per minute (or second)is always the most important measure. A rifleman will often be looking to one-shot prey if possible, and for that min/max damage is key. If most targets can be dropped before they close on you, your progress will be faster.
DPS is the keymeasure if you are using a tank for larger targets.
Remember too, that you can switch rifles quickly.Use laser for the first few shots (aim the first)then switch to a spraystick when (if!)the target closes.
Another good move is a harvesting droid for a rifleman. Then you aren't having to get up and harvest, which wastes time and is often impractical, but the corpses can poof before the lair is done. Your income can greatly improve. I have one that harvests, stores, has minor combat ability (so it can tank), and has a stimpack dispenser as well. An R3, it has enough HAM to last a long time against something large. A bit expensive, but payed for itself in meat.
I used a speed sliced e-11 (low hams, 3.2 speed, ap2), which allowed me to yo-yo decently. How's that for old-school?? Anyone else remember yo-yo ing??
Get a few spray sticks. Have them sliced. Add speed powerups. Then overChargeShot or overChargeShot2 if you have it (Master Marksman) and you gind so quick your eyes will pop.
Get a speedsliced/powered upt21 when you you get to concealShot. If you get attacked headShot2. Work your way up the tree on the left.
When you get them macro a /mindShot (or whatever the bleed one is) then spam /headShot3. This works amazing.
Quenker missions are so easy the down side is having to ride back to a terminal every two minutes to get more.
Yo-yo? What do you mean?
