I've heard that ranged characters get a to-hit bonus against melee characters just like they get one against ranged...but I am inclined to doubt it...is it true?

I'm fairly sure it's not true. The ranged character's benefit is that they can attack from range (imagine that). Meleers get a bonus to compensate for needing to run all the way up to the ranged player.

I haven't heard of it. I'd like to see meleer's get a progressive to-hit bonus like we see against creatures in the Scout and Ranger trees. And that way, we'd get a better idea as to how effective it is against us

lol you mean all the way up to 20m away, which in a close quarters arena like Anchorhead is pretty darn easy ![]()
By the way, I also think that -both- the ranged and melee damage bonuses on a KD character should be removed. That way people will stop making a beeline for the KD...it's always the first thing anyone who has it, goes for...ugh

Between this and the other post this guy has on the front page it sounds like his "I win" button isn't big enough. Give it a rest, we're over powered enough as is.

I can see how they would get a bonus to hit us to make it "fair" but it would make more sence for us to take less damage holding a weapon. Our rifles give us something to block with. People need to start role playing and not worry about the balance of the game. You can't role play and have a world where everyone is equal. What is going to hurt more, me punching you in the face ar me shooting you in the head with a high power rifle?

what you mean you are sick of the dizzy/KD being the first move so that they get you doing back flips so they can kill you easily?
I think they should remove dizzy from the game for just that reason, either that or get rid of the "you are so dizzy you fall down" BS

Learn to kite properly, don't stop running and if they run back run a little bit toward them, stay at 64 the entire time. And if you PvP in AH, well, sadly, noone pvp's in ah anymore.

The way a rifleman should be fighting is that he should be out at 60m or so when he starts fighting. If he does not move and the melee fighter charges to engage him, the rifleman has 40m of unopposed shooting before the melee fighter even has a chance to attack him. And if the rifleman fights properly, he never lets melee fighters get within that last 20m of him.
That seems to me to be a pretty significant To-Hit bonus. If we play right, we get To-Hit-them without getting hit ourselves. Even when they get to take advantage of the To-Hit bonus against us (meaning they are in melee range), we still get to shoot them, although with decreased accuracy.
Therefore, there is no reason we should have a bonus against them.
