I used a Laser for max range targets and then switched to the Dlt20a when they started charging. My groupmate was a rifle-marksman/melee so the first two shots were at max range and then he held up the enemy for melee xp while I finished him off at about 35m. I also used an SG82 while grouping on Lok as most of the Animals there do not have resistance to cold. At least the ones I came across.

The Laser is the primary and the Dlt20a was the secondary, until they got within 25 and it was a switch to a scout blaster to finish them off.

Now it is all T21 and SG82 with Laser as a backup weapon, and a scout blaster, SR combat pistol and FWG as pistol backups. I know the question was rifles on this rifleman forum, but I had the extra points to spend on the pistol spec in marksman, so I grabbed it for when I am running around. It is really useful to have the many different types of ammo when hunting solo.

I usually still hit even when standing up, although a little bit less. I usually don't miss A LOT unless the to-hit rating is -25 or lower, then it goes down the pooper. I also have the first two tiers of sniper accuracy, so that probably helps a little.

143-243 dmg, 5.0 speed, 23.2% wound chance Wookiee Bowcaster.

Laser Rifle with speed slice and speed mod. fires 41-405 in 3.3 secs

I useda lazer rifle for the initial headshot hit...then if I was rushed I switched to a spraystick with a speed powerup. It seems to work very well....if yer mobbed get ready to backtrack a bit.

DLT20a... why? Because I'm weird like that...

In truth, the first wave of laser weaps werent so great IMHO, so I just stuck with a good DLT20a until I hit novice rifleman.

No doubt about the spraystick speed. My spraystick has a speed of 1.7!! It sucks that the damage is so low on it, but when yer shooting so fast, I figure it has to make up for it.

I used the DLT20a for a while and I tried out the E11 when I got certed for it (but it never really seemed to work that well for me). Now that I'm Novice Rifleman, I'm just not sure what direction to go. I have T21 that does pretty good damage, but the speed is sooooo slooooow (at a whopping 9.9, ugh!).

Oh yeah CDEFs and DLT20as all the way....
