Thread: /sigh, im really starting to lose hope in my Rifleman, and this game, but I will hold on as always

Man, its just not fun anymore. I've been playing since day 2 this game came out retail, been Rifleman a week or so later, casually mind you.


They just keep introducing things that will benefit every other profession, but sink ours lower to extinction. I seriously dobelieveitwhen someone says that our profession is one of the lowest population so we have last priority for enjoyment and balance issues, we are the last thought in the Dev's minds when they think "Balance", if we are a thought at all.


I DO like the 3 second speed cap, makes us seem more like Snipers then accurate machine gunners,but like the 2.5x melee damage,warping issues,high HAM costs, andour severely fatal stutterstep that's still not fixed, there is really nothing to compensate us for this inconvenience. But, that's still yet to be seen, some other people state that the damage increase will be HUUUUUUUGE (A few ignorant BH's), and some state that its more than likely just words thrown together to fool the small group of Rifleman (A few pessimistic Rifleman). The thing is, the proposed change is that they will guarantee .5 speed cap for pistols and guarantee 3 sec speed cap for Rifle (carbine too? don't remember), but they'll "look in to" increasing ourdamage. They won't "look in to" decreasing general pistol damage to compensate their significant speed cap decrease of 0.5 seconds. 0.5 seconds is afterall, alot of time in combat.
If the damage is going to be increased for us at the very least 6x then pistol (considering that we will be exatly 6 times slower our BASE damage output will be the same, also not to mention that it will take us quite a while to reach our 3 sec proposed speed cap with our elite weapon compared to *other professions), if that is how we will be compensated, with a 6x damage increase with no pistol damage decrease, or a 6x decrease in pistol damage,then I take back all the ranting in the aboveparagraph and walk away in shame for whining before getting the full report from Devs. I dunno but their concept of balancing is really off tune.


I started off with my character on Flurry server, but in the past month have made 2 other characters on Shadowfire and Intrepid. Yesterday I was on the verge of deleting my Rifleman character and start fresh, but the thought of all the hard work I had to do to get to 2/2/1/2 Rifleman and 0/0/3/1 Tera Kasi (Took me merely days to accomplish, from novice brawler) kept me thinkingstraight and got me somwhat derailed from my depressive state.


I dunno what to do anymore, Tera Kasi is soo much more fun than Rifleman, I hate to admit that. /sigh,I think im just going to "Nerf" the frequent use of my primary character on Flurry and "Exploit" my other characters diverse nature. I love my Rifleman and will never delete him, but the actual fun factor has been dramatically decreased with my Rifleman, so much negative impact has been beaten into our professionthe Dev's don't realize (Well, I hope they're not doing it on purpose anyway) each time they make a new and exciting update that will help balance this game out.

And the whole take cover function will still be useless, no matter how much defense increase and accuracy increase we get in cover mode, with only1-2 shots (And any rifle user knows that EVERY SHOT counts, and EVERY SHOT misses on a charging enemy when it counts) before we have to stand up (High accuracy decrease from prone cover due to standing and point blank range of enemy) we are pretty much dead. Kiting a chargin pistol userwill only decrease your accuracy and give him the advantage because while you fire every 3 seconds normal shots if you're a proficient rifleman, a pistoleer can shoot charging care free because he knows that your shots are more than likely to misshim while he can shoot at .5 seconds, whittling away at your HAM. And at .5 seconds, it really doesn't matter if you miss alot because you will guarantee have atleast one shot in a running ranged battle. On the other hand Rifleman are almost guaranteed to miss every shot at 3 seconds in a running ranged battle.
