Thread: Am I the only one that sees the propose changes are good?

You guys are actually going to become snipers.


High Damage but 3 sec delay.


They are going to give you guys a lot more damage.


It says so in the whole thread.


You guys might have just read the rifleman/pistoleer but I read the entire thread.


Here's what I interpreted. They are REVAMPING everything.


Pistol gets speed.
Rifle gets damage.
Carbine gets something in between.


If you guys are going to be gimps, then carbineers will be gimpier. Just look at it like that.


But you guys will get nerfed a little bit. I will admit it. I can see it as clear as daylight. Your mind bleeds will get nerf. Your bleeds that probably does the same damage as the pistol bleeds will get 3 sec delay. But in the damage per second, it still remains to be seen. I see good things actually. Your damage will get improved. It basically just means more 1 shot kills.


This propose changes are actually bad for my char. I was hoping on dabbling in rifleman to get the mind shot 2. Might not be worth it anymore with these proposed changes.

Ehem, Devs said they "MIGHT" change our damage. We will never get 1 hit kills so we will be screwed with this time change.

Yeah they *might* increase our damage months after the speed changes...leaving us gimped even more because they could givea crap about our class.

I posted that in another thread but it applies here as well:


If you seriously think the devs will multiply our current rifles damage by 6 times you are either completely delusional or you began playing the game 48h ago...


I play on Starsider and I've already seen some 50-261 UNSLICED fwg5 for sale. Ifpistoleerscan fire those guns at 0.5s intervals while riflemen are stuck with 3s, do you honestly believe they will give us some rifles capable of 300-1566 UNSLICED to make up for it? Hell, the 150-425 T21 "worried" them and warranted a nerf, and you believe they will give us such toys? And btw, our damage with those rules should be higher than 6 times the damage of pistols because we suffer many penalties that they don't have to deal with (using Mind/unhealable pool to do specials coupled with super high special costs=sick downtime in large PvP, 2.5 melee dmg multiplier anyone?, etc...), our damage should be more like 7-8 times that of a pistol given those speed caps.


Mark my word: if that 3s code goes on live, they will NEVER take the measures necessary to make up for it for rifleman, it just won't happen...

The proposed changes seem overly disadvantageous to the Rifleman profession.



I think the developers need to take a step back and really think about what they are doing and why they are doing it.

Let's face it, Rifleman is the LEAST popular ranged profession now (Carbineer is a close second) and it will continue to decline in population if the proposed changes are put into place. Boy, what a nice way to phase out the profession. I love the fact that speed is chosen as the defining factor to separate the ranged professions and is going to be amplified for pistoleers whereas ours gets nerfed.

They are looking at revamping the whole combat system.. if thats the case, if they think pistol damage is too high.. they will lower it. God, be positive about this will you..Most Pikeman are exstatic that we might actually have a skill that works, or that our 2 main weapons wont have negative range modifiers.. Long Vibro Axe -55 to -58 and vibro lance -32 to -35. thos negatives are straight down the line.. get over it.

Um you're forgetting that these guys couldn't even fix an AI pathing bug without coming up with the warping solution that has caused problems for all ranged classes. These are also the guys who claim that fixing the PEF in PvP is "too hard"...


Now they're talking about putting together a whole new combat system that'll create a whole new swarm of disadvantages and power imbalances and EXPECTING it to work right! Give me a break.


The current system underwent, what... 18 months of beta plus about 2 months of live? That's about 20 months of playtime and still the whole thing is out of whack and doesn't quite work right.


What are the odds of them putting this new system together and not screwing the whole game up completely? Better start buying lottery tickets...

speed is far more beneficial than one shot damage.. but some people had to bitch about us not being snipers.. now here's what it's going to look like:


You miss!


You get hit for 300!


You get hit for 300!


You get hit for 300!


You get hit for 300!


You get hit for 300!


You have been incapacitated.


You get hit for 300!


Also means our debuffs like AE dizzy are going to take 3 seconds to use.. I mean, it may not stick on all the mobs in the cone on the first shot so I generally fire it 3 times.. that would take 3 seconds now, but with these new changes it will take 9 seconds pretty much making that skill useless. Don't bs me about how now my AE will just kill everyone in one shot anyways because AE's only hit the person you have targetted on the first shot until all the mobs are aggro'd lol.. and in 9 seconds those mobs will kill you easy. Damage or not the rifleman class has been changed for the worse. It was fun at master, and we weregood at master.. but omg some apprentice and novice sharpshooters wanted to be snipers! This nerf only affects masters really though so I guess the whiners don't get hurt, but rather get what they want.. they get to be as powerful as masters.. as for us masters we have 58 points wasted in the rifleman tree because with 3 second speed there is little real improvement after novice. Of course I'm talking like this massive nerf has already happened.. I still pray it doesn't otherwise I like many others will just cancel our accounts.

First, please post some solid examples of how the devs have fixed anything correctly yet. (See previous post).


Second, look at list of major bugs that still exist in Rifleman and in entire game today after 20 months.


Now, WHY should we think they're going to do this right???

sniper lol. At 64 meters max which anyone can close in 2.5 seconds, and you can't drop them in one shot, and you're killing yourself with each shot you fire.
