Plat, they could reduce the range for others and fix it that way . . . .

Simpliy stated the area of a circle two * pie * radius squared

If you plug in the numbers you get 2 * 3.14 * (64 /2) ^ 2= 6433

Now what would happen if they increased the range of our weapons to 80

2 * 3.13 * (80/2) ^ 2 = 10053

For a 125% increase in range you get a 156% increase on the system requirements to render the larger amount of area on your computer. This game already is barely playable on some people computers ( not mine I just upgraded ). This range was chosen as a limit to make the game run smooth.

That being said I would like to see riflemans accuracy at 64m to be better since we can't have a larger range let us be great at the max range available.

A quick mathmatical correction. It's only an 25% range increase and 56% system increase. A 100% increase actually means to double the base number. A 125% increase would mean 2.25X the base number.

Next question. I can increase the range of my radar already. Lets say I double it to 128m Doesn't this have the same effect of increasing the system requirements? I routinely have my radar at 64m but my HUD is set at max. I assume its 512m. Should this cause some massive system requirements? If it doesn't why would the weapons cause this but not the radar? If it should cause the same problems I don't think it would be much of one. Like I said, I routinely use the HUD in the wilderness.

with a really crappy system i can see things at 80m so there would be no need for a change in minimal requirments

Here is some suggestions I just posted on a different post on this issue. what do you guys think? Keep in mind I came up with these, being both pistaleer and rifleman, most pistal though.

1. completely restrict the range at which a pistal can shoot. So that at say 40 or 50m, depending on pistal, I get the little --- line meaning I cant fire. That leaves the rifles still able to shoot me up to 64m.

2. make the penalty modifiers for pistals at ranges farther then 30m just as severe, if not more, then the close range penalty modifiers for the rifles.

3. leave the range and modifiers as they for the pistals, but make the rifles able to shoot at ranges farther then 64m, depending on the rifle.
