Say I come across a bunch of people from the other faction. And they are just standing around playing grab @ss...not even noticing me. If I use Strafe Shot 2 as my first shot will it hit that whole group of guys or just the one targeted until they fire back at me?

are they in combat ? if so, then you should be good.

If you and your target are both overt, but haven't noticed each other yet, don't know.

Good question.

Actually, I was asking if your very first shot was area affect (before they even attack you). I know in PVE its wise to fire a normal attack so all the creatures agro you, then use your Strafe 2 so it hits everyone. But is it not the case for PVP? In PVP is it considered that you are always agroed?

it hits them instantly.

the area is a cone that starts at where you stand and expands outward. if there were a hundred targets standing on the same spot it would hit them all. any targets that fall outsid the cone will not be hit.

how big is the cone?? there is no real way to tell other than by experience and using the skill. i have it down now so i can pinpoint single targets on the edge of a crowd and only hit that target.

I've noticed something about this. The end of the cone seems to be about 20m centered on your target. I was in The Warren last Monday and having fun with a spraystick. The closer I got, the "wider" the effect got. I was in PB (and amazed that the special still worked) and seemed hit **edit** near everything in front of me. Was I imagining that?

havent noticed the range past the target thing but you still cant shoot past 64 meters. to test that you would need a target closer than 44 meters and one at 64 meters. preferably one at 1 and one at 64.

it may not be a "cone" but a cylinder with one end on you and linked to your target. not sure though but it seems to have the same width from 0 to 64. i think i call it a cone because of my M60 experience in the army and the way the weapon lays down a cone of fire starting at the muzzle and going outwards.

I think he was trying to ask if its area effect or not. Yes, its area effect, I've taken down 3-4 guys clumped in a group in just two strafe 2's that way. Quite fun actually .

- As I see it, Sony has until July 31st 2004 to pull content, balance and most importantly "fun" out of a hat and into the game for me. I guess I can list "buying a non-refundable year's subscription" down as one of the dumbest decisions made in my life. Congradulations SoE, you took 200 bucks from me. -

Strife 2 is amazing... But I try not to use it in PVP, just for the simple fact that action and health can be healed. Mind can't... well it can soon.. but every medic I have talked to says they won't heal it cause it hurts them. But mind is where we are strong... Kill mind... CM's can't heal or poison.. which takes them out totally. And when you hit master you can headshot every second..untill thats moved back to 3 seconds. Just my two cents

P.S. watch out for BH's... Eyeshot is the DEVIL

Actually, that's a good question. Now, I can verify that I've hit groups of 3 to 4players at a pop using StrafeShot2, but I don't recall ever hitting a higher amount then 4.

Is there a limit to how many people you can hit with the area damage? Or is it strictly a matter of how many targets are packed into the area where your shot hits?

A-Pac - that's a very good question, and one to which I don't know the answer. I would hazard a guess that if you opened with a strafe2, you would hit but not damage the opponents around your main target - however, you would initiate combat with them, so if you spammed it then your next ones would whomp them all, hehehehe.

Good luck trying it out... I know I will when I get the chance. =P

lol Barb - I thought you were a girl - well at least your char is

Anyway it might set width - like 5 meters - at short range the triangle top angle will be much wider - I also think that you can't hit targets behind you current target - not sure about that piece of info though - someone might want to experiment about it .

Well last night a guildmate and I raided teh Imp base on Lok. well it started slow as there was only 3 imps there and they had to wait on their friend to arrive before they'd go overt. We went overt from sone high ranking Rebel npcs not far from the base

Well once the action got started I sent in my rancor while my partner sent his graul (he's also a partial BH working on master). Meanwhiel the Imps sent their grauls, toxic mereks and commando after us. I laid down a volley of strafe 2 (spammed the hotkey) within seconds the imps were incap'd, one graul was incap'd, the other was near incap'd and I think my parter incap'd the mereks.

I'm not used to doing PvP so when the first message popped up that I incap'd one of the imps I thought it said I was incap'd by them. Yet my ham was full and my combat queue kept dumping itself. So I thought maybe my incap was just lagged. I'd forget we had some nice Doc buffs going still, plus my Muon was still goign strong and my new suit of low ham red compostire was doign a great job. Turns out the queue was dumping due to no line of sight on the target whcih I caught when I scrolled back after the raid ended.

Long story short. I didn't notice any delay with the first shot of strafe 2. I was using a nerf T21 with a 30 max dmg, 14 mind pup, with 7.4 attack speed. Strafe 2 rocks in PvP.

Strafe2 is a very good shot with tight groups of opposing factions. The problem is if they have pets around them, they all go arrgo on ya so be ready to spam a few shots and run

From my experince.
