I just recently got a spraystick. I was wondering if it could target multiple targets and how i am able to do this if it is. Also i hear about jawa Ion rifles being able to stun or do stun damage. I was also wondering if this is a special. I am not a master marksman, keep hearing differing opinions on whether it is worth it. Anyway i am 4/1/0/4 in marksman i believe and 1(almost 2)/0/0/1 in rifleman. So as you can see i am just getting started in rifleman. Any info would help. thanks

cool man, welcome to the Rifle class

here's the run down on weapons. Every weapon does a damage TYPE. If you /ex(amine) a creature/npc, it will tell you what that creature/npc is protected against and vulnerable to. For example: ATST is vulnerable only to blast dmg. and has 70%(?) resists to everything else. Also, there is an armor rating; light, medium, and heavy. Look around for VolstedGridban's guide to armor piercing/weapons - it's amazing. anyways -

DLT20/a, E11, T21, Laser Rifle = Energy damage.

Spraystick is SUPPOSED to be Acid Damage, but it's bugged and currently does Energy damage.

Tusken is supposed to be kinetic, but is currently bugged and does energy damage.

Jawa rifle = Stun dmg (not to be confused with the stun 'effect'. stun damage works the same way as energy or heat or blast or kinetic - it kills your oponents ham bars).

SG82 = cold damage

..i think that's all of'em..

now, the two most essential types are definitely Jawa rifle for Stun, and the varations on Energy damage. You must take into account armor piercing, damage type, accuracy, and ham usage on top of damage values for any given rifle/situation.

As you get more experienced you'll see a target and know what to equip/what shots to use, etc. also - tab onto something and hover your cursor over it's ham bars (in the top right corner) this will tell you their real values, so you can determine whether it's more efficient to target mind or health/action.

no rifle can target multiple targets on it's own. What you're referring to is AE attacks. or "Area of Effect". You will get these further up in the rifleman tree. Flushingshot2 (4x dmg)is the bread and butter AE before Master Rifleman, where you will get Strafeshot2 (5x dmg). Startleshot2 is 4x AE, and Flurryshot2 is 3.5x (?) AE (there is a guide posted at the top of the forums on these specials). They all do different things besides damage. For instance, flushingshot2 attempts to posture-up your target (if he is prone, he goes to kneeling. if he's kneeling, he goes to standing). at the same time, it puts a "stun" status on the target, slowing down his firing speed/accuracy (? i guess?)

you can do any shot in the rifleman tree with any rifle.

spraystick is fast, but relatively inaccurate at all ranges. (though is the best one for up-close-and personal, but at that point you might as well pull out a pistol!)

it also has kinda steep ham costs - coupled with it's speed, it can really wear down your mind if you don't have an aggressive stat migration going on.

something that helped me at novice rifleman was good Speed/Mind powerups. 33%/16% is best, find a supplier and pay 2500-4000 a crate. just keep putting'em on your rifles as they run out.
E11 is good allround energy dmg - Laser/T21 is good for highend energy damage. Jawa rifle is essential as a lot of things are vulnerable to stun.

hope some of that helped!

Thanks for the explanation. I have been workin my way up to rifleman for a while. I have yet to buy an E11 i thought there was more to combat than what i was doing. I make my own powerups so when stuff get close i do tend to use it. i have powerups to keep the cost down. I does fire fast though so i do take a hit. As far as tageting multiple or affecting multiple targets. Can the spraystick do that ?

Jeisyn, I have to say, that was one of the most concise and informative guides I've read here. Keep up the good posting.

Cool OB194 , yeah i think this one turned out pretty well thanks for the props

To the question about "can a spray stick target multiple targets at once" - ONLY if you're using an Area of Effect (AE) attack.

the spraystick works just like every other rifle. if you equip it and click 'attack' and let it autofire - it will only hit your current target for random-ham damage.

if you use an AE attack, say, Flushingshot2 - you will shoot at your tabbed-target and also hit any other npc's/creatures in it's immediate viscinity.

Does that make sense to you/answer your question?

Yes it does thanks. I have yet to get any of the AOE shots. I look forward to that though.
