no! you do not have to master CH in order to master Rifle. you dont even need pets!

i am very near master right now 3232 and i only have my 2 normal pets, a kaadu for riding around on, and a cowardly gurred (who i hardly ever use) because i like big cats.

the real trick is either use good strategy, and a lot of planning before you attack (discreshon is the better part of valor for a rifleman) . or just make friends with a group of TKAs and go big game hunting with them. besides its alot more fun that way, less grind, moreplay

novice medic along with a medical droid with 110 unit in it! You can use normal stims and pet stims (they use diff timers) on your pets plus hsould you accident;y get hrut you can heal your self.

Now the question is what to do with the last 37! (although if you are jsut startingout pick up the other starting profession just to get a feel for them)

Or go with Artisan survey and business lines so you can have a merchant, harvest resources to sell. or even harvest those resources specific to the T21 when they're in shift.

Also to sell what ya harvest off creatures with your scouting skills.

I'm like...

Artisan 4-0-0-2
Brawler 2-0-0-0
Entertainer 0-4-2-4
Marksman 4-2-0-4
Medic 0-0-0-0
Scout 3-1-2-1
Musician 1-2-2-2
Rifleman 0-0-0-0
Weaponsmith 0-0-0-0

...right now. Have no idea what to do with my char, I want to be everything at once.

Probably gonna go with Master Rifleman and Master Weaponsmith though, with some Scouting and/or Medic skills on the side.

On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

1) Master Weaponsmith, Master Artisan, Master Merchant
2) Master Teräs Käsi, Master Swordsman

a) You don't have to be Master CH to level Rifleman. I am a CH because I want to be, not because I was forced to. I am a CH because I LOVE the thought of having 3 GSP's to sick on anyone that thinks they can run from me.(Try to outrun one. They are faster than burst speed!) It is also nice to have a little distraction to throw at people. Suddenly having 4 targets hit you rather than one is a little disconcertening.

b) With 52 points I would recomend Leveling Marksman for PVP. Go the extra mile and grab the Master Marksman bonuses. +5 rifle speed can make all the difference if you and another master square off and he isn't a Master Marksman. Not to mention, it is always useful to be able to whip out a carbine and target some poor pistoleers action pool that they have run dry =)

If you are not into PVP, level medic or some scout tree. Both will help you stay alive longer in PVE battles. Or pick up some brawler and novice TKA for some defensive bonuses. The TKA is a good mix for both PVP and PVE.

A master rifleman with a pet + the ability to harvest good amount of meats for the docs = You can go in and buy 20 rifles, have them sliced and throw away the 19 bad ones. Thats the sort of money a scout / ranger can do if he knows his rifle

not arguing with what you're saying about pets and tactics... but calling yourself "very near master" at 3/2/3/2 is a major stretch.

the difference between master and non-master in rifles is so large that it is like an entirely different class. there is no near master in rifles.

but i am CH because i want to be not because i have to be. and you wont master CH before you master rifle. not unless you use a different skillset or grind out CH on newbie monsters. the thought of doing that the newbie monster route is mind numbing.
