I was wondering why there are a lot more riflemen in the game than before. What is it that's so good about the rifle? How's master sharpshooter in pvp?

Lets see what is good about rifle.

A wide arsenal of weapons
One AR3 weapon T-21 (if your on a server that has the resources)
two AR2 energy weapons E-11 Rifle and Laser Rifle
two AR1 Tusken Rifle and Jawa Ion
Wide Array of Damage Types (when fully fixed)
Energy (Dlt20, dlt20a, E11, Laser, T-21)
Acid (Spraystick if it ever gets fixed)
Cold (sgw5)
Kinetic (Tusken if it ever gets fixed)
Stun (Jawa Ion Cannon)

Targetable Mind Pool, Speed at Master , AOE stun , AOE Dizzy, Strafeshot2, Cover (ya'll can laugh now)

2.5 melee damage mod, as a novice I hated it, I still hate it, but I know from experiance as lame as this sounds it is like the earthen tones to a fine wine. its the cream flilling in the OREO, its what makes a rifleman both a massive damage dealer and a mega wimp. you can't have one with out the other. nuff said.

oh ya and Ranged Death Blow, and just a reminder the Jawa Ion Cannon

Now for the bad stuff of about rifleman

DOWN TIME, Limited ability to deal out damage with specials, even a 2k mind buff and a moun high you are only good for 10 minutes.
Creature warping on my melon Tricks
Lower speed at novice often results in Solo PVE to lvl which means one of two things, get ch /non ch pet and have them tank , or play for many hours solo working a combo of suppression fire and warning shot.

Master Sharpshooter are very good in pvp,
/don flameresisant hotpants
I say they are good in pvp for speed, mind pool shots, and ranged deathblow.

What I'mSAYING is don't expect to become a master sharpshooter and walk into bestine or AH overt and expect to live long. 1 on 1 I haven't had much success with, mainly because I only PVP in a group and don't really care for the I'm the lone Enforcer TEF BS that runs wild on most servers.

Rifleman in my experiance are best used in Squad sized engaments with Enemy forces, a nice combo of Carbs/Pistol/BH's and a few rifleman can make for some serious action and a lot of fun.
While the other group membersengage the enemy and the rifleman cycles threw targets looking for who is knocked down (flurryshot incoming) low mind (headshot2 incoming) kneeling, (flurryshot , flushing shot (aka rifleman knockdown), those that get capped , sniper shot , one player sent to cloning . If a party member has a pet chewing on his/her rear, a few quick shots can really help out alot.

Now the not soo good side of pvp, TEFS, as your bizzy helping out your group your mind starts to get low, your scaning your radar/overhead map looking for red yet you fail to realize that the tka master you db'ed from 50m is now covert and standing next to you, blink red, your dead. 2.5 x rifleman melee mod, tka = dead rifleman. It does get crazy from time to time and you really have to keep your eyes open for TEFS because as a rifleman your key to survial is RANGE.

Another key to survial in pvp as a rifleman is Doc buffs, and entertainer buffs.

I haven't done much pvp'ing myself, but I've heard quite a few other masters saying they do exceptionally well in 1 vs 1 and 1 vs many situations. Would imagine a few will stop in to give the lowdown.

Gunnar said it all in a exceptional way.

Rifle = sucks ( well almost ) until master. Then you transform into the most vicious killer of the galaxy Dealing 25-30000 ( altogether ) dmg on groups 64 meters away, firing every 2-3 seconds with armorpiercing 3...All fueled by the galaxys most precious resource...mind

The best thing about novice rifleman is that, when you get fed up with it and try to shoot yourself in the head, you miss.

Bah Riflemen just rock, I'm trying pistoleer out on my alt, but I keep wanting to take up rifle again.

TBH once you've seen a rifle why settle for a pea shooter?

Heh, I have a good story of the later, from a day ago. I was with a friend from real life on Scylla, playing my semi-new apprentice rifleman, ie rifle4 marksman, Trandoshan. My friend is a pistoleer/doctor relatively low and working on it all himself. We are running Rebel missions out of Moenia.

We are going along and at one point my friend is low on health, so i decide to tank a bit, put on my armor and pop a neutron pixie. We are good for two more missions. On the way to the next mission, I hit my downer, I have now exactly 1 health 400 action 1000 mind and a TEF. Coming up on the mission, I tell my friend to go ahead and we can take the mission, I just have to be careful, right at that moment two Overt Imps come up to the mission and stand in the camp waiting for us to attack.

I am sitting there thinking, Wow why are these guys not attacking now, I have a TEF and 1 health, and then I think, man they must think I am stupid if I watch them walk up and then I attack the camp. So my friend and just go to the next mission, drop that mission they are camping, and continue on.

Let them camp for all I care
