  • Sounds like we may have overdone it on the commandos. Of course, I am reluctant to nerf something that players are enjoying. We'll have to discuss this more with the commando correspondent, methinks. We definitely don't want everyone else to feel like they're nothing more than flambe for the taking, and I doubt the commandos as a whole do either...

  • -Holocron

24 hours reluctant with the T21. He then goes on to say he'll talk with the commando correspondent. I'll bite my tongue on that and just say, "I'm happy he's asking for feedback this time, instead of proclaiming that a 3k damage shot makes him nervous."

  • Balance of all the combat professions in PvP--I'll be honest and say that I don't have a good enough sense of what trumps what in PvP right now. Sure, I get the impression commandos trump everything, but what is the pecking order below that? What about groups vs solo and force of numbers? How much do tactics matter?

  • -Holocron

At least he's being honest, and hopefully this will lead to more number crunching, live server watching, and PvP TC testing. Even as a rifleman, I'm not happy to hear what seems to be an upcoming commando nerf. Those guys DO miss an awful lot.

I'm just surprised the guy has the time to write all this up, and doesn't have the time to make a quick fix to heavy weapons so they won't do melee damage. I'm still getting rocked in PvP by revenge flag using BHs/Commadoes.

Doing 1k+ damage per shot on a normal shot is nuts. Period.I'm glad to hear something will be done about it as it's badly needed. It's just a slap in the face to rifle users that they do more damage at range and don't take huge melee damage.

The fact that they do melee damage is a bug, not really a balance issue. But it is odd how it hurts riflemen the most.

Watched a commando solo 10 rontos (bull rontos) at the same time with a flamethrower last night.

I was very depressed after that.

*Watches as the clouds part, a shaft of holy light piercing through the darkness and bathing him in heavenly bliss ... angels flying through the sky singing sweet songs of peace and happiness. But suddenly a bolt of lightening streaks from the ground and toasts all the angels, the heaven's immediatly closing back up ... a Bounty Hunter with LLC grinning like a maniac as he proceeds to totally whomp all enemies to oblivion.*

But wait, what about Bounty Hunters? Those stupid guns need to have some negative bonuses to max range, they are supposed to be 18m and lower weapons, right? I haven't had much trouble fighting Commandos (they do miss alot, poor lil' buggers ...) but when an LLC is hitting me for 800+ from 64m away without any styles, that's when you know something is wrong. Even if they fix the heavy weapons counted as melee damage bug, that's still around 350 ^^-=*unstyled*=-^^ PvP damage (emphasis on unstyled) at 64m every 1-3 seconds without any negatives to your accuracy. Hey ... I thought riflemen were supposed to be the most feared combatant at long ranges ...

Don't you love how a Bounty Hunter can hit someone in the eye at 64 meters away while doing backflips, on a foggy night, through a wall, while afk? Yup, seems balanced to me ...

Problem is the fix probably wont effect the guns already in game, so in reality we will not see any change for a very long time, we will have to wait for the "Pre Nerfs" to disapear. This is not like the T21 Nerf where some servers didnt even have T21's and the ones that did had a very limited amount. The BH and Comando weapons have been made in mass quantities.

    Silverlobo,

the problem with T21's not being on all servers is still going on. Ahazi still does not have the resources for this weapon and nothing has been said on when it will be fixed.

Same goes for Tarquinas, still no resources for a t21 rifle EVER..

I have never seen a T-21 on Gorath. I could be wrong, there might be one out there but I have never seen one, and I have never heard of anyone else having one, and I sure have looked for one.

No T21s on Shadowfire, either. And the only ones on Lowca apparently come from a weaponsmith who received the missing element from a CSR as a harvester poof replacement or something.

What he is saying is that the effect wont be felt too soon, because the market is flooded with the guns and everyone is buying them up since a nerf is blowing with the winds. The T 21 kinda came without too much warning and there weren't that many on servers that could make them. Still like that, Bloodfin does have them but more often then not you have to request it or get to a shop right at the restock...or buy a **edit**ty one

Yeah, with the ammount of commando weapons being produced on every server, even it they nerf them, the weapons will be around for a year or more. I have a DH17 that I use constently, and have ground a great deal with, it is at 500/862 and has been repaired once.

This weapon was bought 2 weeks after release and has been used more than any other weapon I have.

I still have my original T21, one of the first ones made on Corbantis a month ago. I have repaired it once, but it is still kicking, and I have 3 more Pre-Nerfs ready to go.

Point is the LLC's, Flamethrowers, and RL are way more plentifull and I know my guild has been stockpiling sence the release of them knowing **edit** well they would be nerfed. I am sure there are plenty of other people that have done the same so..

Definately, the stock piled weapons will be a problem. The fact that players knew they were going to be nerfed and the devs didn't when they made the choice to turn them into instant death weapons is rather disturbing.... But with the devs skill in mega nerfs I bet they can come up with something. Now, I'm sure it will be fairly random as to what they do about it. Maybe the heavy weapons will all end up like the beam rifle?
