Thread: Questions from a not there yet Marksman.
If you're already getting master marksman, why not get master scout and go Bounty Hunter? Yes, the crowd groans, but it's true.
With only 2 boxes in Bounty Hunter, you'll be better in PvP than any Rifleman. Plus you can spend some points on the LLC and do some nice PvE damage. Master Marksman, Master Scout, BH, Novice Medic and either some Pistoleer or some Creature Handling. That's the way to go.
You could do rifles, but you be any good at all you'd need to go up the right tree, requiring combat XP to get you rifle speed improvements. Rifles are horribly slow firing with terrible DPS until you get the rightmost rifleman tree up to the top.
You could get the same speed and mind pool damage (if not better) just by going up 2 boxes in Bounty Hunter. True, you'd have to pick up Master Scout, but it doesn't take long in a Dantooine group and Scout in general is a useful profession to have.
I had some to burn on rifleman and wanted to make sure that going up to snipershot and up the speed three was a good way, or if should distribute those points differently within the Rifleman three. This basicly what i had in mind, and maybe i should have included it on my original post:
Master Marksman
4-4-4-4
Rifleman
4-0-0-4 (Snipershot and speed)
Carbiner
0-1-0-0 (for legshot3)
Pistoleer
0-0-0-0 (for healthshot2)
Medic
0-2-2-1 (not sure if this is the best combo) (I may drop medic since I seldom solo and use those 26pts elsewhere, like Master Rifleman)
Scout
4-0-0-0 (for the dreaded everest climbs (hope they hurry with mounts hehehe), plus good for havesting hides/bones/meat)
Artisan
4-0-0-4 (surveying and skills to get me up to architect)
Architect
0-0-4-0 (This is to support the unofficial "Mining Profession"
All that and one point left
Thank you.
Hello,
Well, I am almost to Master Marksman, 13k to in carbs and 2k to go on Combat XP. I am considering taking Rifleman as a hybrid with pistol and carbines. Question is, do I go up to sniper shot, and all the way up Exp Rifle Spec Abilities? Or do the other blocks offer better bang for the xp
?
Or is there another combo I should consider? I am only going to do Novice Carb with Int Carb Marksmanship so I can get legshot3. I am only doing Novice Pistoleer so I can get healthshot2 It is all I can afford mindpoints wise w/o giving up too much of my Artisan/Architect skills.
Thank you.
