Thread: how should i play catch up? advice?

i really got disgusted with SWG in Oct. and decided to stop playing until things got better. however, after beating knights of the old republic, i really caught the star wars bug again. i reactivated my account a couple days ago but i've got to tell you, i can't remember the first thing about being a rifleman. i'm a 2-0-0-1 rifleman, a few apprentice points away from master marksman. any advice on how to grind to master for me? where should i find groups? any good PAs on intrepid?
also, here's a really big question: what's the deal with skill tapes? idon't have any real armor anymore, but i never used a helmet anyway. i was told rifleman should avoid armor. now it seems like skill tapes and armor are thename of the game in super-sizing yourcharacter. what armor is good, what skill attachments are good, and what do i need to actually whoop some tail? myrifleman as is can barely take down a stormtrooper on his own w/o buffs. any advice wouldbe greatly appreciated.

Dont believe everything you hear. I'm master and I never wore armor and the only skill tapes I ever owned were loot and were NOT combat related. There are LOTS of threads in here about how to grind master. It is easier now than ever before. One guy claims to have done it in 5 days if I remember right, but I don't know if that included the divorce.
The things that are new that really help you since October are the following:
-- No 2.5x melee penalty anymore
-- Creatures no longer WARP on top of you!

-- You can get good Master Doctor buffs to your HA bars that last 3 hours (as long as you dont die)
-- You can get good Master Musician and Master Dancer MIND buffs
--Master Musician can buff your Focus and Willpower bars for two hours (double them)
-- Master Musician can buff your main MIND bar for two hours (double it)
-- You can get good Master Musician and Master Dancer MIND buffs

-- Master Musician can buff your main MIND bar for two hours (double it)
So get your buffs, get your rifle and go find big strong nasty animals to kill. Everyone has their favorites, among them:
-- Mountain Squill or Bocatts or Rontos on Tatooine
-- Pikets or savage quenkers on Dant
-- Baz Nitches are STILL a favorite even after all this time.

Oh yeah... and get the xx3x tree first for FLUSHING SHOT 2... it is a strongMULTI-TARGET shot.

flurryshot 2 is great just be careful, i used it at the tusken for on tat and had about 15 hostiles on me im only 2-1-4-4 rifleman i managed to take out about 6-7 of then for 30K rifleman XP before getting taken out.

so if buffs are the way to go, why is everybody on the boards going crazy about attachments? do they eliminate slow rifle speed and increase accuracy or damage?
