Hockay!!!...

I was out shopping last night looking for a decent T21 when I came across a weapon known as the beam rifle. I figured it was a Comando weapon or Bounty Hunter weapon so I disreguarded it and continued the search. My buddy was doing the same thing however when he saw the big Beam Rifle, he bought it. He used it and said it was giving him rifle experience. Anyone have any idea what this gun is for...I mean which classifcation was this gun designed for?

Any help on this would be greatly apreciated.

Beam rifle is a huge barrel shaped -thing- that looks like a Heavy Acid Rifle. It was supposed to be a Commando energy weapon, but got left out somehow. I used one just for giggles once while a Master Commando and I got heavy weapons experience for it. There isn't a cert for it, so wonder what determines what experience it gives?

I know that isn't much, but hey, it's all I got!

I have 2 beam rifles, they are definitely rifles because you can fire rifle specials( HS3, Strafe, etc...). The down side is, there is no certification for them in any profession, so all my strafe shots were doing 1 damage per hit.

Hey all, I am the friend that bought it as it was classified as a rifle on the vendor that I found it and since I have never seen one quite like it I grabbed it and tried it out. Although it did tell me I was not certified to use it I did get rifle XP for it. It looks quite cool too but if we can't be certified for it even at Master then it isn;t much use to me. Oh well, another gun to hang on my wall!

Is there anyway we can get this looked at by a dev. This gun would be cool for riflemen however if its supposed to have a purpose then the class that it was intended for could most certanly benefit from such a meaty weapon

BTW the damage was certainly in line with the rest of the rifles. It was like 95-200 or something like that which to me sounds okayfor a rifle butreally crappy for a heavy weapon. I would love to be able to accurately use this.

Yes, i bought one also.It does give rifle xp and you can use rifle specials with it, but i wasn't certified to use it, even at master. I'm pretty sure this was ment for commandos because it looks almost exactly like the HAR. If we were able to use it one day i wouldn't be too siked. It does energy damage and i would probably just have it to show off becaue it looks cool.The new rifle coming soon also looks awsome. It also has acid damage so that should be interesting

It looks like a heavy acid rifle, uses the same amounts of the same resources as the HAR, but is listed under Rifles in the crafting tool (instead of Special Heavy Weapons with the LLC/FT/HAR), uses rifle specials, and gives rifle exp. No one seems to know what it's supposed to be, or if it's even supposed to be in the game.

No doubt, another good job by the Devs!! LOL! Honeslty though I can't really see this being a Heavy Weapon as they are usually known for their higher damage and this thing certainly doesn't do damage like the flamethrower or the LLC. If it supposed to bea Heavy, nobody would use it anyway so they might as well make it a rifle for us.

I've read many threads talking about items without certs. Well, I saw an NPC waiting in his hut in NE Rori (heh, you'll have to go searching) who was offering Missions for Master Weaponsmiths only. I'm no weaponsmith so I couldn't get any missions . This was the first time I've seen this type of mud brick kind of structure. I thought it was a spawned camp, but it was in the same place the next day.

It made me think, there may well be these NPC's dotted around for each Master class.Possibly offering rewards such as new Certs, schematics etc... That may well mean these weapons no-one can use are not an overlooked issue by the Devs, but implemented with due thought.

Anyone else seen these camps?...Finished these quests?
