Kinda new to Rifleman (2-1-0-1) and I'm looking for some advice regarding hunting strategy.

Currently my general plan is to go prone, take cover, then spam concealed shot until my target is dead. It's been working pretty well, but I've got two concerns. First it tends to take a while to kill stuff since I'm not concentrating on a single pool. Second, missions are kinda hard since I can't /peace while under cover and concealed shot doesn't seem to conceal me when the lair spits out some more.

Is there a more efficient way to hunt? And when will the rifle concealment bonus be high enough to make taking cover unnessesary to start hidden?

Disclaimer: I ground rifleman with Terrain Negotiation 4 in scout and +45 in mask scent clothes. These may have hadgreater effect than Take Cover.

I believe cover is broken. More experienced masters may correct me, but from personal experience, I was discovered about the same amount redardless of whether I had mask scent or mask scent + cover. The main detriment toTake Cover is inablity to declare peace. My strategy at beginner levels was to prone, mask scent, conceal shot at the first spawn, fire a single conceal shot at the lair, peace, wait for the next spawn to appear and repeat. With quenkers, the last spawn wouldn't come out until the lair was at 50% health. I had to wait longer for the third spawn or take my chanes with multiple conceal shot + peace combos. Play around with whatever you're hunting and see how their lairs behave.

Like I've mentioned in every one of my recent posts, if you can afford it, buy ahrisa and vasarian brandy. Depending on the quality they'll give you around +900 - 1100 to focus and +300 - 400 to other mind stats. Furthermore, if you hunt for more than 1 hr at the time, consider getting full doc buffs. They will keep you alive against pretty much anything you'll encounter without encumberances of armor. I routinely tank 4-5 kliknik's + 1 hunter on Yavin 4 with buffs and food without any of the bars getting into white.

I too am a lowbie...and I would not normally post on a subject like this except for the fact that I have one piece of information I can offer you. When I am grinding through my quenkers/savagequenkers/huurtons I generally go to somewhere between 50 and 55m, mask scent and spam concealed shot. No taking cover. If I get detected, which happens from time to time, I hit /peace, which clears the queue without any problems and wait 30 seconds to cover my scent again. When I do get spotted I switch to warning shot to keep the little critters off me. I don't have any ueber-equipment or anything and I reckon on a two mission trip in about 30 minutes. This has worked better for me than the mindshot / headshot combo, because although that concentrates on the mind pool, I can't be certain of knocking them off in three shots (which is the most you'll get before they come after you) and the concealed shot approach means I never have to wait for my mind pool to recover (even unbuffed). I have just made it to 4-1-0-2 in this way - concentrating on sniping for the accuracy improvements. I read in other places that the counter-sniping tree is actually the place to be, so I guess I'll do that next. Anyway - the point of all this is: I would drop "take cover". It sounds like it's causing more pain than pleasure.

Forgot to mention - have 4 in the relevant scout tree for mask scent.

Ok, so I'll just skip taking cover... that makes life much easier =)
