Im thinking of going with one of several setups.

Master Rifle / Master Heavy Swords / Novice Medic 2/2/2/2

or

Master Rifle / Master Heavy Swords / Tera Kasi 4/0/0/0 / Novice Medic

Or do you think I don't need to Master Rifle if I go with Master Heavy Swords? My goal is to be effective at both long range and up close battles and targeting the mind bar.

Your thoughts? Suggestions?

I was Master Rifle/Master Swordsman for a while due to Holocrons. Rifle is definitely more valuable than Heavy Swords right now, but it is mostly a personal choice. I would probably take the meditation branch of TKA over medic since it allows you to heal poison and disease before it messes you up too bad. And if you'll be PvP'ing a lot, that's a major concern thanks to CMs...

isnt the novice heavy sword weapon a hammer?? i take it a hammer is like a sword only different...

anyway... why?? bleeds dont stack anymore. if you want a close range backup skill TKM would be a better choice if you insist on being a melee user.

i know that if i ever dropped CH i would probably take up commando just cuz it looks like a lot of fun. with rifle and commando mix. dunno but you gotta ask yourself what benefit will this give me. that is of course unless your doing it cuz you want to but if that was the case you wouldnt be asking us what we thought

I am Master Rifleman/ Master Swordsman / Master Brawler / Medic 0 1 0 0 (with one useless point left over, ARRRGHHH).

I love it. For PvP, it is mainly rifles from a distance, and, if I get jumped, switch to PowerHammer. The combination does little to affect state or KD defenses (though you pickup some), so you are just as susceptible to them as you are as a Rifleman alone, but even so, properly buffed and armored, you can survive a Dizzy/KD long enough for a TK to get tired of beating on you. On a couple of occasions, I have been Dizzy/KDed and, between the times I got up and fell back down,I would whack them in the head with the Hammer. In both those cases, the eventually decided it was better not to stand there getting whacked and ran off. In one case, the guy ran off and switch to rifle and killed me, but in another case, he ran off right as the dizzy wore off, and I was able to get up andpick him off with my rifle as he ran.

For PvE, I love the combo as well. If I want to be truly deadly, I will start off on their mind with the rifle, and, if they make it all the way to me, I switch over to the Hammer and finsh them off. At the tusken fort, I can run up and down all day with very little problem and never once have to pull out my rifle. It is a fun skill set.

Barb,

Didyou use bleeds muchas a Master Riflewoman even before the nerf? The stacking bleeds were nice, but that is really not the reason to go Swordsman with Rifle. It is the ability to continue to do massive mind damage while in melee range is. Also, you would be surprised how much the tactics for using rifle apply to Swordsman. As I have said before, it feels more like I am beating someone to death with my T21 rather than switching to another profession.

And, yes, it is a PowerHammer. Go figure. But, that has it's benefits as well. One of my guildmates once called me "Thortaudi."

Besides, why go with it? With Lunge2 from Master Brawler, I can knock down Tuskens and follow with Hit3 or HeadHit3 with the powerhammer and often watch an 8,300 or betterpoint floaty drift over their heads. Muwuahahahahahah.

been rifles/2hand medic 2/0/0/0 since september been playin around with the rest as I go along, heading towards taking tka 4/0/0/0, considered flamer but since u can't master it i stayed away...you can master brawler even with the nerf it is a big help...maybe I am adding wrong cause I don't look that close but if you dropped ranged support from marksmen you could probably take tka 4/1/1/0 which gives u knockdown/dizzy, since accuracy is in the meditation line you will hit alright.

anyway, with the upcoming changes to combat etc, no stacking...I think it will only help my character...If they are melee and closing in I can take a few headshots on em, then pull out the 2hand and coninue on the same pool...sure no bleeds anymore but it will still be effective. If you invest in the knockdown and dodge food you will be very tough for any melee to beat.
