Made vehicles, droids and turrets immune to the delay effect of strafe shot (Correspondent Issue)

and from what I understand it only works when the person is in cover.

Any comments on this?

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather...
to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming: "WOW - What a ride!"

Uh... what?

I thought that section of noteswas saying that rifleman could no longer inflect a non-organic object with a state like Dizzy, Stun, etc...

yet another typo.. it used to read "stun effect". strafe doesn't stun either. they need to get these release notes PROOFREAD before they go live.

no, we don't have a delay shot.

just read this in the launchpad but for some reason i dont remember reading it when the notes were posted before:

"
  • Panic Shot & Strafe Shot are cone effect shots that will delay your target for 10 seconds on a successful shot. Strafe Shot succeeds only when your target is in the ?take cover? position. In both cases, the effect ends upon further damage to the target.

    any comments?

i have been delayed in the past by a advanced strafe. it only *only* effects you if you are in cover mode (and who is ever in cover?)

Basically they added something that is in practice...useless. A beloved "delay" attack that works only against a in-cover opponent. I can see the devs snickering even now with that one.

Who in the name of Nauritus uses Cover in PVP. I know of it being used in soloing npcs, but come on.... That's about it. That's like saying to me "Go prone while engaging that TKA coming at you. If he goes prone and into cover you can delay him!"

    Oh brother.

Well, the delay is completely useless. The ONLY proffession with /takecover is Rifleman. Well, why do we get a delay shot that ONLY works against a certain class? Maybe the /warcry (even though it was nerfed already) should ONLY work against the melee classes. And /flamesingle1 only work against commando's. C'mon SOE, give us usefull skills that actually work (surprise shot anyone?).

No...you guys have it all wrong. This is part of the combat balance. In the next patch, they are fixing Surprise shot. See...the idea will be that you will shoot the TKA running at you with Surpriseshot, and "Surprise!," he will beforced into cover. Now, you can shoot him with Strafeshot to remove him from cover and delay him. Just wait, it will all soon make sense.

Maybe this change is kind of a gift to the rifleman. The devs are saying look we know everybody wants to nerf your profession but its working the way it is intended for the most part and we got this whole combat revamp coming up so we have to do something, so we tinkered with something nobody uses.
