Patch notes says Strafe shots have changed. As I only used Strafe2 for max AoE dmg, I don't see what the change is. Can anybody explain?

Thanks,

i dont remember strafe being anything but a direct damage attack. its probably a typo and they are talking about flushing shot's stun effect. no rifle ability delays the target. they may have that confused with a carbine special but im not familiar with their specials so i dont know for sure. but i DO know that there is no special in the rifle tree that caused a delay effect pre-patch.

Well, actually, Barb, that is not exactly right. They were talking about Strafeshot, and there apparently is a delay associated with strafeshot. Unfortunately, who could ever tell? Strafeshot is designed to remove the target from cover and, when it does, it apparently has a delay effect also. Okay. Cool, but so what?

Only rifle users can take cover, and almost no one goes prone in PvP, much less takes cover. Besides even if you encountered an NPC in cover, how would you know? And if you were shooting him with Strafeshot2, it was not likely because you thought they might be in cover but because you were using your highest damage shot trying to kill him. So even if you successfully removed him from cover and delayed him, you would probably never even know it. Is it any wonder that none of us even knew the shot did have a working delay effect?

So, the patch notes were correct when they said Strafeshot. Apparenlty, this highly valuable delay effect could be used on inanimate objects, so, they changed it to keep that from happening.

Ignore it. In all likelihood, we will all be dead and gone before we encounter a fellow rifleman in cover and can use the shot to its full effect.

Great. They give us a delay effect, but we can never use it, but if we could, we could only use it on ourselves. Thanks guys.
