Saw a post in the commando forum about what people think that profession should be and wondered the same thing for rifleman. Do you consider yourself to be a 1 shot one kill kind of a guy or more of an assualt rifle character that drills the target with as much ammo as possible to nuke him down? I kind of consider myself inbetween cause I like the one shot one kill routine where I can nuke a target in one hit if need be but higher lvl enemies I need to drill the target to take em down.

Some want to be snipers, some want to be more like infantry, and some want to be a bit of both. Sniping isn't possible with this system, but some still find it fun to do what they can with what we have. We are more of a mix of the two right now and I think most Riflemen like it that way.

honestly, untill i find an exceptional t21, i wont be one-shotting many people... and well, the way the profession is set up at the moment, is that of the grunt, after the combat balance, should it ever come, we might end up snipers, might end up a decent mix of both

I know you'd be very hard-pressed to find an armorless and unbuffedPvPer, but if you ever try it with a friend just for fun, you'll find yourself one-shotting lots of people. 2-shots are very common

I wish. A friend of mine got a pretty new DE-10 pistol and decided to try it out on me well he must have had alot of dodge because I don't think any of my shots even touched him. He was about 15-20m away from me. I first busted out my T21 then used my jawa ion and still nothing
. I think i'm just the 1 of the few people that do not have enough creds to buy extremely rare speed tapes to cap me off. Only have 2 million some odd creds or so. So back to the topic anyways like I said I feel like both. I want to be that person that sits there and just drills the target but when it comes down to it I want to be a hi-end dmg sniper if necessary or assassin with good descent attacks.

The only way you can be a sniper is to cover/conceal shot stupid NPCs and MOBs. The combat system is too limited for anyone to behave like a true sniper.
I switched from Swordsman to Rifleman as my main combat profbecause it just didn't feel like Star Wars running around with a big hammer. Ranged combat should totally dominate this game, with the exception of Jedi of course.
I see Riflemen as being like modern day infantry with fast-firing weapons and, since getting a 750+ damage T21 and reaching speed cap, that's exactly what I've become.

Ya thats what I keep trying to invision my self as however I just don't see it happening unless I can get near 30 million credits or so and buy alot of speed enhancement tapes luckly with the force sensitive stuff coming up that maybe in the past
. Also it is not really true that you have to sneak up to dumb npcs and use conceal shot to take them down to be considered a true sniper. I managed to take down lord nyax using conceal shot and earned me a pretty combat medic experimentation tape +13 for the job
. At any moment nyax could have turned on me so it was a chance of him discovering me so I feel that there is where our potential lies as the kind of grassy nole characters that try to sneak up as close as we can to get the best accuracy and just whail on the enemy as much as possible till they turn to mush. The thing I would love to see is riflemen not necessarily getting more weaponry but cooping with the commandos to man high end weaponry such as that e-web gun.

We seem to lean more toward grunt as we have only conceal shot that would classify as a true sniper shot. But that one shot is simply gold at times.

I agree there. I still invision my conceal shot with nyax it was priceless.
