I just started playing this game and have some questions regarding the weapon choice.

For range attacks i use a sliced t21 usually and i think its the best choice.

When it gets closer or when i am with other people and have to be closer to the target (or if i want to gather resources) i use a spraystick with 1.8 speed and 61-234 dmg and 32 mind drain(dont know thehealth and actions drains off hand but they are the same or lower)because of 1. the speed and 2. the lower range penalties. I was asking myself why i never see people talk about spraysticks on this board since they seem so important to me when soloing.

Should i keep using my spraystick and what are the alternatives for closer combat?

When does the speed cap? (will it ever be worthless to have that 1.8 speed?)

The only thing I need a spraystick for anymore is when I feel like seeing how many people will mistake me for a Jedi with it in my hand(Yes, that trick still works) Once you get enough speed, you will find the spraystick to be less and less useful. Of all the rifles, the spraystickhas the lowest speed whichcan make itextremely usefulfor levelling.

When does the T-21(and other rifles) make the spraystick obsolete? Use this equation to calculate your actual rifle speed- Weapon Speed * Delay Modifier * (100 - Rifle Speed) / 100. Or use this website.

For now, the Jawa Ion rifle isn't a bad choice for close-range combat(I recall mine having a rather short ideal range). Spraysticks are fine too. If you can use a DXR-6b, the great accuracy on it will allow you to use it fairly effectively at any range When you begin to get those big boosts in accuracy, you will find that there is no longer much of a problem using the T-21 at close range either.

As for the speed cap, you would figure out from the equationor site above that using your average, non speed-sliced T-21 with SS2, you would need +97 rifle speed(+7 more than MR and +2 more than MR/MM)to fire once per second. Usinga DXR-6b and HS3or other rifle/special combinations, would require slightly less rifle speed to fire once per second.

There is nothing wrong with your 1.8 speed spraystick right now, but you will notice that later on, you can use other weapons just as fast once your rifle speed mod increases

Yeah, I used to use a spraystick at close range. Now that I have 4/1/2/2 I have been using a Jawa rifle for close combat. That is IF the mob sees me and comes in. Most of the time /concealshot does the trick and they die waaaaaaay far away. Stormies are sooooo dumb, they don't even realise that they are being shot, and they walk away from me out of range. That is just rude. Stay in range when I am killing you

When you master, your accuracy and speed are good enough that even a T-21 at point blank range is feasible. Until then, spraysticks are very useful.
