Thread: if you could only take 3 boxes of rifleman which shot does the most damage?

I'm stuck at taking 3 skill boxes in rifleman but want to do as much damage as possible in a single shot... should I then be concentrating on the branch with headshot 3? Or do one of the others have a more damaging shot? (flushing shot 2 anygood?)

HS3 is probably your best bet. Its a single target attack, attacks a single pool. Flushing shot 2 will raise someone out of cover and, I believe, is an AOE attack. If it is, you might aggro something you didn't intend.
All around, HS3 is the utility shot for Rifleman

Thanks for the reply. Could you tell me what a really good laser rifle (assuming it does more damage than a t21 on a normal basis?) stats would be? I currently have a laser that's 46-464 damage and 5.8speed. I want something that far outdoes this in minimum/maximum damage. Can it be had? What would it take?

your best bet is rifle special abilities (0003).
you get flurry and flurry2... not the most damaging of specials.
BUT
you get +rifle speed. while other shots do more damage, and while you'll miss more than a rifleman with more accuracy, SPEED will increase your DPS.
if nothing else, invest in a LOT of sliced rifles and burn them out with overchargeshot's. DPS is damage per second... and increasing speed increases damage per unit of time more substantially than a few extra points of damage on a single attack.

IMHO a laser rifle will NEVER replace a T21. AP3+Better Damage = Awesome

Indeed, I seem to bottom out with the laser much more often then hitting the higher number so I like the T-21's constant range instead of highs and lows.
