Thread: Conceal Shot/ GDK's

I have been trying to use conceal shot on greater Dune Kimos from 64m. They always aggro me and I am stuck at shot range HS3 with the T21.


I would like to kill them at range, but don't know how.


Any thoughts?

i was able to do it. i always had maskscent up first, not sure if that helped

Drag it to NPCs or other creatures. Let them pull agro and then headshot it to death.

Like many other spawned npc's they have a tendency to be sensitive to anything within attacking range i.e. 64m all of the time so you'll have a very hard time doing this at range. The good news is that a GDK hits likea quenker. No really, 80% kinetic is all you'll need to beat this thing. The only thing to look out for is that nasty disease it will try and apply to you. The good news on that is that its potency is pathetic. Have a doctor give you a duration crafed disease resistB or C. It will have a lower potency resist but its still better than what the GDK is attacking you with and the resist should last for at least a full hour or more.


One other thing, use your bike to kite. The last time I fought a GDK I was using poison alone and tried kiting. Not sure if this is consistent or not but the darn thing was walking, not running, at me whenever I drove around it. Several times I hopped off my swoop and ran towards it to get it in range of my poisons or to cap off a few SS2's. Give it a shot and good luck. If it starts walking while you attack it post back here and let us know about it.

GDK's are roamers, they also seem to have very good noses. So, being on your toes about peacing if it roams your direction is helpful and so is mask scent. Also, because they are huge, the distance to them is a bit weird, which works to your advantage. You can line up on a GDK from 70+ meters and still connect, which gives you more time to peace if they roam close to you and to run if you land a random bleed. My $.02

I think mask scent makes a difference but killing gdks using conceal IMO is to slow especialy since the minute they bleed they agro. I honesly think the best thing for GDKS is to go out with ONE mellee guy to tank while you stay at range. I'm saying one because anything more than that tends to make the damn thing run in large sporadic circles being unsure of what it wants to attack causing your melee guys to have to chase it around and you to sometimes endup out of range If you do want to use more than a group of two than make sure your tank rememebrs to do allot of taunting to hold agro.

conceal shots don't work very well on GDKs. if you are just using rifle, kite the gdk. they get in a habit of moving very slowly sometimes. swoop kiting works ok, unless him destroys your bike. if there are alot of gurks around, swoop kite him into the group of gurks and use headshot 3 to kill him. use steaks if you don't have melee mig.


flame dot and swoop is a fun well to kill a gdk
