Thread: Best PvP Rifleman template

I was looking to go master rifleman and was looking for a template to go along with it. I am going to PvP.

Master brawler - warcry2 and intimidate2 are essential for PvP as far as I can tell. I think you can manage master swords, master brawler, master rifle and novice medic. You could swap master swords for something with better defence if you like.

I am TKM/Master Rifle/Fencer 0440/medic 0100 and must say that works well, whoever had fencer 4440 can drop down to 0440 and get novice med, no point in the Stances and grips line for you... your melee/ranged defence is nearly capped anyway... (cap is 125 without skilltapes and 150 with skilltapes) and without Stances and Grips you got 117 melee defence and capped ranged defence...

with this template you get good defence,you can do high dammage(with rifles), you can apply about all states the game got, you can heal yourself and others...

I like lots of rifle templates. A few very good ones:


master rifles/master fencer/master brawler/novice medic

master rifles/master fencer/tka 4301/novice medic

master rifles/master tka/4440 fencer

master rifles/master tka/master brawler/novice medic


Swordsmen is also excellent, but I don't have the experience in it. As long as you get speed capped, swordsmen is great in PVP.

I think hitting the speed cap with a rifleman is pretty important, so I put Master Marksman into my template (with some skill tapes) until I can get the tapes necessary to cap without the addition of Marksman.


So I am a Master Rifleman, Master TKA, Master Marksman and Smuggler 0/0/3/0. I am not a pure PvP template however, but a mix of PvP and PvE. Rifleman is still one of the very best professions for PvE, and I throw in the ability to Feign Dead because it comes in handy against a Super Battle Droid here and there.


Marksman, as I mentioned adds to my rifle performance, but TKM is pretty important also. The ability to power boost is cool, it gives you another 550 to your primary stats. Force of Will can be a life saver if you need it and of greatest importance to me, is the ability to meditate away your mind wounds. Having been in battles that last a couple of hours it is easy to get those wounds up pretty high and usually there is notan entertainer out there waiting to dance for you. Drop 500 mind wounds and add power boost and you just gave yourself an advantage of 1,000 mind points.


There are other templates that will give you better defenses against stats, I had the defense line of pistoleer for a while and that was great. I find however that in most battles the majority of people I face that are a challenge are other rifleman. In that case you simply want to out DPS them and speed helps. Keep in mind that not all situations reguire the Jawa, it is a situational weapon. If you are up against someone using a stun helmet and PSG the T21 may become your best bet. However if you can't fire head shot 3 at the speed cap with a damage sliced T21, you may lose. Against another master Rifleman, the best offense is the best defense. Land a stun, mind bleed and wack away.


Against a fencer, the most common type of PvP melee profession, keep dizzy and knock down foods handy, and kite like crazy. Remember that landing a dizzy state keeps them from using burst run and you can stick them with one from a distance and kite away.


That's just a little bit of what I do, and I hope helps to explain my template.

This is great info - I am currently MWS/MA/Merchant/scout and working on MRM - I had an idea that I wanted to move to MRM and MTK to be able to survive more then 5 minutes (with a full buff) in the Geo caves etc. I can see that this is the way to go.

In the Geo Caves stun armor will help, or if you don't have that just be sure to get right next to the crazed geonsians so they aren't hitting you with stun pistols. As a Master Rifleman you can kill those Kwis faster than almost anybody else but even with armor and buffs they are going to give you a beating. Another nice advantage of TKM is that you have the best toughness of any melee profession and when you need to stay alive longer or take less damage, switch to TKM. You still have a good damage output as a TKM and will take less damage from each hit. The toughness only applies when you are fighting unarmed, but switching to your vibroknuckler and keeping the Kwi intimidated should let you handle what a regular rifleman, even though he can do more damage, wouldn't stand through.
