If you want to make a rifleman/bh those skills would be available to you.

And BH is a great profession to stack with any other ranged profession. All the modifiers are general and not weapon specific. I was expecting the carbine specialization to give carbine modifiers etc but they all do general. That might change though.
As it look now I am definitly going Rifleman/BH with some Pistoleer (assumign the pistol specials I want to use can be used with rifles)

true, but with no mind pool, not sure what eyeshot will do, and supposedly torso shot is now a bleed, not fire dot.

You can still attack mind and action pools. These effectivly act as a debuff, killing there ability to perform actions. CM's can even de-buff the minds ability to regen, making a mess of fighters in longer battles.
Well, atleast from the specials descriptions this seems accurate. At novice rifle you get a head shot that effects the mind pool according to the description.

Stun will debuff ability pool. I am not sure if headshot etc really debuff. Description doesonly say it does atraget hit to the head. Might be like the targeted jedi specials that is used to target a specific unarmored part

it isn't affecting the mind pool.
of course, the only abilities that USE the mind pool are healing abilities.

Head- and Eye- shots seem to be there for hitting people without helmets (other than the Blind effect on Eyeshot)
