Thread: conceal+cover combo in CU?

I know in Live you can effectively kill almost anything eventually with concealshot...

Has anyone tested it in CU? If you cover and then use concealshot, does it aggro the target quickly or can you keep shooting generally?

Just curious... if so, some things may still be in reach for us in the solo arena.

Critter AI currently is so smart that critters run towards you as soon as you fire your first conceal shot.
Even if that didnt happen, if you try to solo mobs not intended to be soloed, their regeneration multiplier granted from combat level difference will heal them faster than you can deal damage.

I wanted to test this butwas unable to take cover in the CU for some odd reason.

That was a couple days ago and it may have been debugged.

I'm also interested in camo / mask scent and how that applies to our abilites to be snipers. I've been unable to get into TC to see for myself, so here's hopnig someone else has tested a rifleman/ranger combo to see what effect, if any, camo has towards conceal/cover/ not being aggroed.

I would love to test this, but camo is currently broken in the CU. If you type /conceal it thinks you mean /concealshot, and you get a message that says "You cannot attack yourself!" So until they fix it, we can make camo kits, but have no way to apply them.

I have tried using maskscent with cover and conceal shot and creatures immediately run towards me even tho cover has not broken.

Low level, 17 - 50, and high level 78-82 creatures.

Same thing here.

I tried /concealshot on creatures, and they ALWAYS charged my location, broke my /cover, and attacked. When I used it on some NPCs, however, the NPC slowly walked right toward me, but stopped between 20 - 25m away, where I was able to continue using /concealshot untill he dropped. The funny thing was, when I tried to crawl away from him, (I'm a Master Ranger - I can crawl pretty fast, lol) he FOLLOWED me wherever I went, weaving up and down hills and through the woods, ALWAYS staying between 20 and 25m. While this might be a useful tactic for pulling simgle mobs away from groups, it just seems a little... weird. With creatures, though, it just doesn't work at all.

put it this way... cover in pvp unless ur a bh vs jedi thing... NOT gonna do anything for you.

in cities u cannot go cover ANYWHERE..white npcs expose you...(gee..useful really) and 15m rage is too big...somone swooping past u not even noticing u there will break ur cover even if hes a friend.

cover is useless in pvp no matter how much of a tactician you can ever be.

havent tried in pve...just dotn do it in dungeons because likewise..its impossible.

until cover have concealshot do more damage and radius of 15m is reduced to5m its pointless.

havent tried it in pve yet but im sure itll be the same (krayt spawns have 9846341 NPCs in a 100m radius)...no way u can cover there.

also...whats up with the tapes? take cover is supposed to make the process faster while cover is supposed to protect u better or give u a better chance to stay under cover while shooting... post CU tapes dont do anything altho we have the mods and ability

The devs are a bit swamped right now. I expect that you'll see sea's addressed 1-2 months after cu goes live. I hope...

Not true - the bigger team is the CU team by a large margin. The expansion team is smaller. That though is not to say that this will be working by the time it hits live (which makes me very sad) I wish it was - orginally we were promised it would be working and now they say it will take serveral months post cu to get everything working right (as per TH). I actually feel kinda sorry for the public relations people and the devs on this one, their hand got called before they were ready.
