Thread: Suggestion to make Cover better for PVP

Ok, here are some Ideas:




  • "Sniper Shot", "Aim", and "Conceal Shot" should NOT break cover.

  • Only attackable "Targets"(Players/NPCs/Creatures) should break cover.

  • Range for breaking Cover should be 20m instead of 15m, Penalty for having "Attackable TargetsCover Breaking"(?).

  • You should be able to Cover from Kneel and Prone

Hey, if you have any reasonable "Fix" post it here, there a chance that the DEVs see some sense in this. (I hope)

here is my suggestion. Kinetic damage rifles are using bullets not lasers, so you should not be able to see where it came from, and you should not be able to see a big blue or red or white streak coming from my rifle. Also the gun should be transparent like my body is.

I agree with actairr, also make cover more useable. I have been able to take cover like 1 out of 10 tries because of something near me. I think you should only NOT be able to take cover if there is a hostile or otherwise attackable enemy with 20m. Also, you should be able to take cover near same-factoned individuals. You shouldn't have to hide from your own team right?

Totally agree. Nothing worse than trying to hide from people and not be able to cause your friends are close by. Like they are standing there pointing at me or something lol.

the only complaint i have with cover is my group members break my cover...and then I yell at them.


many many times I've used cover only to get the suprise factor on my target who drives by They never ever expect it.


The only thing I hink that needs to change is group members breaking cover.

Been suggested already - I think they might move on aim if I ask again but don't expect sniper shot to change and the particle effects will stay so that your target has a chance to counter attack (totally invisible = to much grief potential)

I also agree that the restrictions on going into cover need to be relaxed.

1. only conceal and sniper shot can be done from cover

2. cover cannot be broken except for attackable targets and only when within 5 meters (15m is too much..especially in cities..even near the corner of buildings,etc)

3. no grouped or same faction members can blow ur cover (this needs to be done especially for pvp/gcw)

4. we already cannot shoot like before thru hills,etc....so if target is behind a rock,etc u cannot shoot him from cover and need to go around it completely

5. when u use cover u auto go to prone...same with sniper shot...no more "wrong posture" crap. (and this is doable much like the dive shot,etc)


the problem with cover atm is:


1. u cannot do /cover anywhere really unless its 2k away from the "showdown"

2. cover gets blown VERY fast and VERY easy

I think their should be a check on some skill, awarness or something, that if he wins we lose cover, if we win we keep cover. This check would happen on every shot and the only time the check (dice roll) takes place is when we fire a shot and when they are within 10m. There are stories of snipers in cover and people walking within 1 foot of them and not seeing them. This would be more real, but prolly not balanced lol. Still it would be cool.
