Hi,
I'm thinking about taking up rifleman, but I'm not sure. How easy is it to sniper out of range? I'm a CH as well, so keeping the enemy tanked wouldn't be too hard, but I don't know about the ins and outs of it.
I know the CU is coming up, and it can all change, I'd just like some views on the prof.
The way I see it: Advantages; long range, hidden, some good specials. Disadvantages; long range, vulnerable at anything other than exact range.
Any advice?

If I had one piece of advice for you it would be log on to TC and make a CH/Rifleman and try it out.
IF I had two pieces of advice it would this. First, on the open terrain the enemy should not get close to you. Second, if they do give them a firearm (butstroke) and down they go and you can get back to range.

Range modifiers have been removed so does that really matter anymore?

Really? I used to be Commando, so if you can hit 16k, then I'll agree
What kinda range on a good T21?

Keep in mind that damage is very different in the CU. Rifleman will be one of the higher damage dealers out there. As far as range goes, well they have the best range of all the range profs (up to 64m), commando is limited to 25m. BUt yes riflemen can do alot of damage and can do it at a long range. My question is what do you plan to mix in with it? Cause there were a few temps with rifle I did not like and some that I really really liked.

Well my idea at the moment is this:
Master Rifleman
Master CH
Marksman 4xx4
Scout 4x4x
Medic 4x3x
It's a very support type role - I'd love to have the camo from the ranger tree but I don't think it'll be that worth it. This means I can sit back and tank, but help heal the group too - take the aggro from people who need to heal to my pets, then they can come back and get healed, then jump back in.

That sounds like a good plan for pve, not sure how it would work with pve though. With pvp and rifles though you can sit back and snare some one then sick your pets on them. And I think we will see alot more of the "healer/support" guys taking rifles as they can sit back and heal people then give some good support.

I think he was refering to damage range, not distance. With the very best crafted t21 you could do 8k dmg with strafe2 powered up, mine is 550 max and usually unpuped I hit for 3-6k depending on the armor. May not be as much as commando but when its 3-6k per second its worth it
