Hello everybody,
has this issue been fixed? "Riflemen outclass other ranged professions by far, as they are able to fire the heaviest-hitting weapons in the game as fast as any other profession."
And if it has been fixed do you have a link or any information on the mathematics?
Greetings

rifleman are supposed to outclass other ranged professions in damage, it's what we do.... Other professions have other abilities like snare and AOE that we do not have, this is how the balance works....

This link is pre CU, it's far outdated. That formula no longer applies.
The present situation the way I see it:
Rifleman have the highest damaging weapons available to them, and high end loot is making them compareable if not better than carbines in terms of dps output. Headshot, which is the main rifle attack has a 1.8 damage modifier. Compare this to Leg Shot from carbineer and Critical Shot from BH, both of these have a 1.9 modifier. This puts rifleman at an actual disadvantage for damage. Keep in mind however, that a rifleman could pick up either of these as a damage supplement, and I would encourage that they do.
Sniper shot should not be forgotton either. This is the most powerful attack in the game (under normal circumstances) I believe, and it's use and applications should not be overlooked. Although the warm up time, minimum range, and prone requirement make it rather difficult to use, the ability to deal a large amount of damage with one hit applies itself very well to many situations.

Ok, then a more specific answer: Yes, it is possible for rifleman to fire as fast as other profs. With a decent speed rifle, speed pup, doc buff, etc. you're going to be firing as fast as anyone.
