Thread: THe last (10th) respec will require deletion of your character.

Better read the latest notes on the NGE pages... seems deletion of your character will be part of this deal. You will lose all stuff or whatever. If this is not true,,, need a SOE person to state it here please. By the way, I am just reporting what I read...... Nothing more nothing less.

You get 9 respecs, no more. After your 9th respec you will be locked into the respeced class forever.
That has been confirmed so far.
I assume once this hits live, you will initially have to make a choice for one of the 9 classes, then you have 9 more respecs. I'm not sure about that, it would make sense though. That way you can try out every of the 9 professions and then respec to the one you liked the most, and be locked there.
So there is no 10th respec. If you want to "respec" after the 9th time, there are only two ways:
a) delete and remake your char (and hope the name is available again)
b) buy a second account

They should give us multiple characters like EQ and EQ2 and EQOA give to you since they're making this into an game almost exactly like those now. One character per server after these changeswould be more moronic than the changes that are coming.

No, the name becomes available again... at some time.
How long after deletion is unknown, some say they deleted a new char and could remake a new one with the same name. Others had their name blocked even months after it.
Someone suspected it might be related to what exists in the game with your name. Like for a crafter who had made 100 weapons, the name will be locked as long as one of those 100 weapons still exist, and stuff like that. Well, noone can really confirm it.
But it definitely freed in some cases, I have seen people deleting, then playing a new char for months, deleting again and remaking their original char. It had no badges or anything, so it was a new char, not a reactivated account.
But yes, you should not count on being able to reuse your name, which is a serious issue with being forced to delete to try out other professions.

A way to completely drop all skills, and start from level 1 again, keeping badges and everything, would really solve it.
The system is in the game already, dropping pilot skills works like that

ADK's are being turned into one final respec token. You may respec at anytime BUT...you start at level 1. A one-time use per ADK only; then it vanishes.

That is not necessarily true. I created a character named Gilla on the Gorath server a few months back. As soon as I got into the server, I had like 15 emails in my inbox that were over one year old. I just assumed that it was because there had been a character of the same name before, but that some of the stuff associated with the character remained on the SWG server side, like email.

Yes thats because of that. Also you should have the old friendslist of this Gilla, if she had one.

And in the next few months, we'll all have 2 toons per server. Just keep the main, and delete/reroll the alt.
