right now my template is tkm/master rifles/pistoleer 0042/smuggler 0010. I'm wondering if dropping tkm & going pikeman would be better since block would be capped. Or do i have a better template than that already?

Any input appreciated.

If you can afford to buy enough tapes to speed cap with pikes and you can find some nice high damage LVAs then I'd go that route.

You'll get less toughness and defenses that you get with TKM, but for damage output a speed capped Pikeman will virtually always out-damage a TKM.

pvp rule for pikeman/ rifleman. kd them with ur pikes run away with a dxr-6b, t21, or a jawa then just blast away with ur headshot3. totally wrecks in pvp. not too bad in pve either.

Well I am a big PvPer. My template is M Pikeman/ M Rifles with medic. I must say that this template is very nice for PvP. As said above, the KD/Dizzy really does wreck them. Especially when you stack the mind dots and fires. Doesn't even have to be mind . Master Pikes/Master Rifles is very nice.

ok, so i guess the verdict is pikes is better than tkm with rifles. I'm just going to miss meditate. But will my def be better or worse with pikes? Does the extra block make any difference at all?

thanks

Go master rifles master swords. With medic. This template owns

The Block does work, but it's the weakest of the secondary defenses. However, M. Pikeman + Trickshot + M. Rifleman = some very nice state defenses. While you're going to lose the Toughness of TKM, you're going to gain better state defenses, so you'll have to decide what's more important to you.

As someone else said, a speed capped Pikeman with a high damage LVA, is much deadlier than a TKM on just about any day of the week. Plus, the ability to lay mind DoTs with lances is a great advantage as well. On another note, Pikeman just has so much more style than TKM. Considering the popularity of TKM, I got sick of it real fast...the moves got real stale. Pike has a bit more attitude to it and also has state attacks to rival those of TKM.

In the end, both profs have their strengths and I don't think you'll lose out either way....but personally...I enjoyed Pikeman more.

Actually it does stack.
If you mix pistol and fencer your total dodge is 210.
If you mix rifles and pikes your total block is 195.
If you mix carbine with swords your total counterattack is 215.

These all show up on your skills area as one big number, not 2 seperate numbers. We did numerous tests with this and found that they do stack. To prove it to yourself master them seperate and then together and you will see the difference. I tested the rifle and pike one and it does stack. Yes block isn't as good as dodge, but you block a ton more when both professions are combined as opposed to one.

I think what he meant was that dodge(1 typeof secondary defence)does not stack with block (another type) and counterattack.

Melee defence(a primary defence type)and ranged defence also stack. (to be plain melee defence with 1 profession with add on top of melee defence from another profession till it hits cap (+125) )

if you want your secondary defences even better - try some chef food as well as group with a squad leaderto increase yourprimary defences (you can get over cap for primary defences if grouped with a squad leader)

primary and secondary defences cap at +125
