Ok, assume following situation :

Someone is shooting against a creature with 30% effectivness on Acid. This person is using a DXR6. Ok, can someone explain me, how this person can "produce" the following :

".... uses Advanced Strafe on ... for 8320 points of damage!"

According the the combat log, this person did about 6.7k dmg/second in average.

Many thanks for your help !

MMORPGs are about immerson, not conquest. FPSs are about conquest, not immersion.
Powergamers want a FPS, but want an audience to admire them while they do it. That is why they flock to MMORPGs. l00k 4tz me, im d4 l33tz dud3z.

Sorry, forgot to mention it has AR2 ... But thanks a lot for your help Waste93 ! I'm glad that this number is still in the possible range from a "normal" weapon.

Thanks again

ok a few questions here

  • is this combat log damage?

  • does the creature have any levels of armor - or is it just 30% resist?

  1. if it has no armor and this is combat log damage then 8000+ is easy

  2. if it is head floaty damage on an armored creature then it is significantly harder.

Lets run the numbers. Strafe2 is 5X damage. That means that the weapon did1664 damage with the resist. Base damage therefore was 2381.

You didn't state the AR of the creature. Assuming that hit was a max damage. So if it was AR2 then the weapon had a max damageof 2381. If it was AR1 then the DXR-6b was 1905. If it was AR0 then the weapon was 1526.

Next we have the 1.5X multiplier. Based damage of the weapon is 1.5X of that listed. So the damage number above go to 1587/1270/1017.

Could be a damage PU/Sliced Krayt weapon. Could also be an Exceptional or Legendary weapon. Depends on what the AR of the MOB was. However if you take the those numbers and factor in a 30% damage slice and 30% PU, then you are looking at a base damage 939/751/600 DXR-6b.
