Thread: Ideas for Combat Prof Combo's?

What are some good ranged / close combat profession combinations and how are they used most effectively for a character used 100% for combat? I'll be using this character for hunting expeditions and to set mining installations on hostile planets.

if you look at the template thread stickied at the top of the forum it would be a great start ^_^
things are recommended often:
rm+any melee elite
rm/combat medic
rm/pistoleer/carbineer (any combo of masters of this)
rm/doc

I am currently Doc\Rifleman - but have found the lack of defences how cuased me problems especially when getting up close and personal with an elder 
I am in the process of redo-ing my template at the moment and was thinking something along the lines of....
Master Rifles
Medic 2-0-4-0
Pistoleer 0-0-4-0
Fencer 2-4-4-0
Scout 1-0-0-0
Mainly for
Melee Mitigation 2
Melee Def 82
Def vs Dizzy 90
Def vs KD 100
Def vs Posture Change Down 70
Def vs Blind 90.
Cure Bleeds\Stim Es
And a bit of terrain negotiation
But - might prove to be worthless after the CU

Spend 15 points on Novice Brawler. Intimidate1 is your best frind vs high end mobs..People don't seem to understand the importance of this basic skill.

Master Rifles
Master Pikeman
xx4x Pistols
xx4x Medic
Speed capped on pikes, and the 185 block you get when both are mastered is insane.

Block is capped at 125 same as every other secondary defense

I know that but it sure does seem to work a helluva lot more than the block you get at master rifles.
