The last few days these two have been sticking in my head. I read somewhere that Squad Leaders are supposed to be support. And what I've noticed is that being a master pistoleer, I get damaged, incapped or slain pretty quick having to be at most 30 some odd meters from them. Anyone have any thoughts?

they have no offense specials in squad leader so it would be their oither profession that is eating you alive (well that and all the generic mods/defenses/defensesincreasers/damageincreaserthey have)

That's why you should go Rifleman. Or carbine and use the dxr 64m range. For some strange reason, as SL, teh mob seems to attack me always. But at 64m, that gives me time for my grp to close in after i Volley fire and paint it's ass..

Ya I have the same problem with the mob coming after me. I belive it has something to do with the improved AI. The mobs seem to attack the main healer now as well. Might be something to watch and note for now on??

As do I. Hence, why after 12 hours of testing out rifles, I saw a worse return for my skills than pistols. I have returned to Master Pistoleer. I spoke with Ackehece about this, and got a useful combo. And for the next 12 hours, tested out rifleman. Aim, more times than not, never showed the target symbol, sniper shot never warmed up. As cool as rifleman is, I will just have to keep a rifle around for back up. As for 64m? Oh my don't even get me started.
I see people I play with on a regular basis use it as a pistol standing on or being stood on by the enemy. I will keep this forum bookmarked, because for squad leaders, rifles make sense. Because when I first started working up the rifleman tree, I was able to change tactics at my leisure. I had 2 or 3 TKAs (not sure if the 3rd person was going TK or not) anti-tank for me. I'd pull the critter out of the lair, they'd whoop it's butt before it even got to me. Thanks to that group, I got mid-range on both rifles and sl. Because of my internet access, I may not be posting on this board, but if any of you would like to convert me back to rifles, send me a pm if there have been improvements to rifles. Thank you all for your help, it's been very much appreciated. I'll see you all again soon I hope.

From what I've heard and experienced, the stronger and more powerful your attack, you earn the hatred of the enemy, so he attacks you instead. With my Intimidator pistol, I'm always drawing the enemy to me. So it's not just you.
