Thread: The Death of Class (Can Development save it?)
I am leavingmy Novice Rifleman for the following reasons:
1. Gorath, the server I play on, does not have any material for the T-21. Even if they did, there is absolutely no advantage to purchasing this gun. My Sliced laser rifle does 40-405 Damage @ 5.8 with 45/45/60 HAM. Every Post-Nerf T21 does not even compare with those stats. The Class weapon is a joke.
2. Warping creatures. Last night, while hunting, I got incap'd by 3 Song Rasp's. (Yes, I am very embarrassed by this). Know how this occured? WARPING - Right on top of me and each one hit me for 150+ (armor stopped around 75-100 of the damage). That was fun, firing on something (of course I miss, because you know rifleman never hit anything) and within 1 second you have 3 creatures appear over your prone position and commence pounding on you.
3. A nice little bug that has recent poped up. You spot something @ 65M' and get to a prone position and fire. In the time you goto prone, that creature has moved to 67M's and is "out of range". Well the BAF happens and his friends that were all over 70M's away come running in at you (sometimes they warp) and your are being attacked by 2 creatures and you have not even fired a shot (add the melee damage.. and its all she wrote)
4. Weapons. I want to drive home 2 points.
1st - IF you are going to make rifles slow, there damage range should be higher. I am not saying "max" damage should be higher. I am saying minimum damage should be higher. Why not in the 150-200 range? Doing under 50 damage with a rifle is laughable.
2nd - Aside from Speed and Damage (we will leave HAM out of this argument) type there is so little difference between rifles it has become a 1 or 2 weapon class. The best weaponsmiths get very similar damage (with a 90 damage window between guns) with no obvious differences between the rifles its hard to argue that one is better than the other. (Unless you talk about damage type).
5. Development continues to ignore the class. The only way we can possibly get any support is from the Weaponsmiths who want to sell the T-21 to the materials - If they complain we me be a secondary beneficiary of it.
Yes the warp issue really need to be address. I'm a master CH and Rilfe. I send my pets out to attack. Wait 3 seconds then engage, but some time it take the pets longer to get to the creature am attacking and what happen? I shoot, the creature warp to where am at, by passing both pets and kill me in one or 2 hit while my creatures are running back to attack. This is really mess up.
I also notice there is nothing from Holo to say they are going to fix this problem any time soon.
Our weapons suck, we get penalty for using it, high damage 2.5x. slow as hell and mind damage is not even unquie to our class bh have the same thing.

Well am done for a while until they can fix these issue. I'll make sure the door hit me on the way out.
The argument about the T21 being weak isa little skewed. First, you are comparing a sliced laser to an unsliced T21. The differences I have found between the T21 and the LR is only about 100 max damage unsliced. So slice the T21 and you can break 300 max damage. Now factor in the increase from the extra armor piercing and you do more damage per shot (haven't done all the math)(shooting AT-ST's that i'm pretty sure have heavy armor you do the written damage, while the LR has a decrease in damage). The speed and HAM costs are definitely something to consider tho. My T21 with a speed PU is about 5.7, which is as good as an unsliced, un-PU'd quality laser rifle. Mostly I use the T21 for the two mind-bleeds I start off with before the critter finds me.

The LR was 40-305 Before a 33% Damage slice. Making it 405.
A Base T-21 is around what? 330 MAX? or less with speed around 8.2-9.0. You need to get both Speed and Damage powerups to make it even worth using. (Even with an outstanding slice to damage it isun-usably slow) Hardly a weapon that I am willing to pay for.
right now im using a sliced laser rifle ..50-558 5.5 but im a master rifleman so speed is top notch..
now tell me im gonna get a t21 that good? in pve base damage in tne chat window ive hit for 4100....
actually t21's are quite a bit better than you're saying.
Max damage is actually around 375.
The one i'm using is about 125-350 7.5 speed. Unsliced. And don't forget AP3.
I'll never use a laser rifle again... well, at least for a very long time.
Thanks for the info Myrick, mine is only max of about 300. So now we do the math again...slice a base T21 of 350 by 33% = 465. And that is AP3, which makes a huge difference. Now PU's can be used and from what I know they can increase speed or dam. by 32%. Making the T21:
465 max, speed of 5.1 with a speed powerup (which can lower mind cost too)
or
613 max damg and speed of 7.5 with damage powerup
and both have AP of 3

Don't whine about that. Powerhammers, Laser Carbines, DX2 are all pretty situational, too.
Also, what exactly is the increase for each level difference of armor piercing? I seem to recall it being 25% or so...(I'm sure this whole topic has been covered numerous times in this forums, so just ignore me if you need to)
