Thread: Just received 514 Unarmed Combat xp off a Mindshot I kill
Was hunting Gualama on Naboo. Hit it with a Mindshot I and had to run (missed 8 straight warning shots). Had to pul the rifle out of my hands as I don't like being 1-hitted. THe Mindshot hit for like 1100 so when the critter dropped I was still running with no rifle.
Got the xp, but it was Unarmed Combat xp. Only hit the thing once as unarmed for like 20 pts.
Between this, the critters disappearing/warping, or just not giving xp/looting rights, I'm loosing like 16k xp per day.
So i went back to solo pulling then, better than getting screwed out of xp and hides....

You can actually use this to your advantage.
Do the same thing, but use a grenade instead of your fist.
Unless they changed it recently all that unarmed would be combat xp.
I could get 3500 combat xp off a snorbal. That made the trek up the special abilities line a lot quicker.

yeah, the last poster is right since the mindshot dot dmg is not counted as real damage. shrug. if you'd hit it with a normal rifle shot (nonspecial) or used a special like headshot (rather than mindshot), you could have done rifle damage and gotten xp for rifle. but since you hit it with mindshot and unarmed dmg only, you only unarmed xp.
Which sounds like a GREAT way for me to get the remaining unarmed xp I need for smuggler!
I was hunting spiders on dath the other night getting about 3800 rifle xp and 380 combat xp per kill. Well, one time a normal spider jumped in instead of a hunter. I stacked the bleeds on the normal spider and went back to helping my pet with the hunter. The normal spider died and I got 1000 combat xp. That didn't seem right. Since I'm not into exploiting I didn't try this again. I'll give it a go with different critters and see what happens. Would be a nice exploit for someone if it works.
I do this all the time since I'm trying to become master rifleman/master swordsman.
Mind Shot 2 - Mind Shot 1, switch to sword- wait -wait- wait - mob finally notices - Mind Hit 1(mob has now been hit with three mind bleeds) - then Mind Hit 3 until the thing falls over.
I end up with 100% Sword XP, since according to SWG, the only "real" damage I did was with the sword. It lets me solo things I'd normarilly have no chance against.
