Thread: Mindshot/headshot 1,2.....
I was wondering the samething. Right now I am 1-0-0-0 into rifle and use a T21 or my laser. My attacks are usually... Mindshot2 , Mindshot1 , Headshot2.
and I just spam those 3 until the mob is dead.
Being a rookie riflemen is there an easier way to life? or is that method ok?
thanks

MS1&2 are DoTs - they bleed target mind pool. They stack too. Use both when solo.
HS - those are DDs - do instant dmg. Use in group. HS3 is crap. HS2 should be your choice.

If a fight is going to be more than 30 seconds long, I find it best to lead with Mindshot 1 then Mindshot 2, then switch to headshot 2.
That lets the bleed damage kick in at least once on each shot and maybe more while still donig headshots to take chunks of the target's mind.
When I do a faction mission, I put the pet on the base and let it get aggro for 10 sec or so, then lead off on all the defenders with a mindshot1/2 combo to start the bleeds. Then I go for individual defenders with headshots. I can handle 4 or 5 defenders that way before the pet kills the base. I use ATST as pet on these and it tends to keep aggro by shooting the base.
The mindshots really help out, by the time I get to the last mob it's usualy almost dead from the bleed.
Here is the lowdown on MS1, MS2.
Mindshot 1 and 2 stack, as was previously said. This does NOT mean they add together.
Here is a sample sequence of events, based on an imaginary timer starting at zero (0) seconds:
0 seconds: You hit mob with MS2 for 999 damage. No damage istaken off of him yet.
7seconds: You hit mob with MS1 for 555 damage. No damage is taken off of him yet.
20 seconds:First bleed from your MS2 hits him, he loses 999 mind.
27 seconds: First bleed from your MS1 hits him, he loses 555 mind.
This repeats every 20seconds til death.
Also, here are some more things you MUST know about MS1, MS2:
-- If you do NOT hit the MOB with some other (different) rifle shot, you get NO rifle XP.
-- If the MOB bleeds to death more than 70-75m away, you get no XP.
-- If you get a LOW MS1 or MS2, you can shoot another one.
A higher value MS will override a lower value, but a lower value will NOT override a higher one!
My preferred sequence is this:
-- /aim,MS2 ...if it misses, aim and fire another one.
-- /aim, HS2 ...this is the "other" rifle shot that will get me the rifle XP. Fire again if miss.
-- /aim, MS1 ...If it misses (and the mob isnt charging you yet) fire again.
If you are unlucky and have more than one miss in that sequence, then at least you have a bleeding MOB with the "other" rifle shot. SO even if he reaches you and incaps you, you will get XP eventually (if he doesnt wander more than 70-75m away while you're lying there.)
