i have been doing tons and tons of pvp lately, mostly because i hit master and got strafeshot2, so i have taken a few tips to help you and hopefully you can give me some tips because i dont plan on stopping pvp.

Most of these are for masters simply because i tried doing pvp when i wasnt and got killed many times

1) Armor is a must, my TKM friend helped me test some about 50% resist armor across the bored. At point blank i was able to do 600-800 points of dmg (strafeshot2)to her with no armor, she did 1k pts of dmg to me with the armor on, but only 300 got through.

2)Mind buff, i dont care what you have to do to find and make friends with a master dancer or musican, try to only go into pvp with a buff or a very large group, cause the ablity to pound them with your specials is unmatched.

3)T21 sliced for dmg with a 30ish% dmg powerup, my t21 does 400-800 dmg without specials in non pvp, in pvp with a special like strafe 2 i was doing 600-800 dmg. If you cant get a t21, a laser rifle will have to do, but i dont like the low hits that can screw you.

4)No snipershot, it costs ham, even a full mind buff by a dancer drains to fast it you use it, so only use it if its really nessisary.

5)macros in pvp dont work so well, try to make a combat bar in your quick keys that is seperate from your normal one but similar, so you can get to know all your specials not just mindshot. if you have strafe shot 2 that is the way to go, except if you notice they're health and action are 3x there mind, then they are buffed and you should go with Mindshot3.

6)dont do dot attacks like bleed unless they are running away, or they are another rifleman. and dont use specials against another rifleman unless you know you are higher lvl and hve a better gun.

thats all for now i need to be off to school, i hope you can modify my tips or add new ones, simplyu because i wish to become the all powerful weasel in pvp

How about using a low ham CDEF for snipershot? It doesn't have to do lots of damage, since your target is already obligingly lying on the ground.

some good tips there, I'm thinking of producing a more detailed pvp guide with strategies and such, not sure if i should though - might make us look too evil. hehe but here's some additional things and perhaps a few things explained in greater detail :

1. as suggested, /addfriend every master dancer/musician you see. and tip them well so they don't mind fulfilling your daily "can i get a 10 minute buff" requests.

Master Dancers double your mind for about 3 hours (if you watch for ten minutes)

master Musicians double your focus/willpower for 3 hours (if you watch for ten minutes).

seeing as i have 1050 mind, 1100 focus, 850 willpower - either one of these buffs pretty much equals /godmode for my Mind bar, even while wearing full composite and firing HS3 with an advanced stock T21 (98 ham). love those entertainers -

2. always use the highest damage slice possible on weapons, put a 33% dmg/16% mind powerup on them. keep a T21/laser, a jawa rifle, a pistol/spraystick, and a DLT20a with a 33% mind powerup on your hotkeys.

3. use T21/Laser against non-composite opponents,

use flushing2/strafe2 against normal health/action values (non-buffed), use HS2 (or 3 if your mind allows) against health/action buffed but normal mind value opponents.

Use jawa rifle against composite wearing opponents. same rules apply, target the weakest pool. (we are HAM snipers, afterall!)

also, watch after your first strafe2 shot, sometimes you get lucky with a really high mind hit and a single HS2 will finish them.

*TIP*: always /ex your targets when they are out of range (if you have time) so see what they are wearing + have equipped.

4. Use the DLT20a for sniper shot. with a powerup, mine uses only 17 mind.

5. at leastGet a composite helmet. even if it's the lowliest resist helmet (lowest encumberance possible) negating 50% of pistol dmg is a huge bonus.

6. try marauder armor for light energy resists. (it helps a lot to have even Light ap/low resists). marauder armor uses only 10 mind encumberance per piece, before slice.

7. keep a /warningshot; pause 1; /peace macro on your hotkey bar for fast pets (gurreks) - do the warningshot yo yo.

8. Jawa rifle and strafe2 for grauls. kill the master first if he's in rangewhile kiting the graul, save your burst run. kill graul second.

9. kite TKM's at minimum 25m, use your burst run.

10. keep First Aid on a hotkey (on a different bar if needed).

11. keep a mouse droid with 110% medical in your dpad for emergency rebuffing/woundpacks.

12. keep a Muon gold and a PSG (if you have any) on your hotkey bar.

*NOTE*: Muon Gold currently messes with dancer/musician buffs - you will get the muon gold values as if you were NOT buffed already. (so if i get a dancer buff on top of my 1050 mind, i'm 2100 mind. if i hit gold, i'm back down to 1550 mind). that's been my experience anyways.

13. make a macro for your mindshot2; mindshot1 bleeds. (i don't use bleeds unless upagainst gurreks or lots of players. even then, i don't usually bother.

14. always stay moving. i like to runaway andjuke around, or do small random circles in duels. always kite TKM's and don't pay them any mind if they call you a pansy for kiting them. -its called tactics. save your Burst runs for tkms (can't stress this enough).

15. pop some willpower enhancing food between fights if you need to regen faster.

16. never laugh and or spit at your fallen enemies, and be gracious in defeat. don't bother engaging in flame wars. It is much more rewarding to play with a Samurai mentallity, IMO. (honor, manners, and respect above all else).

17. strafe2 faction pets with t21.

18. Get BE clothing if you can afford it. there are some useful enhancements available.

19. make an armor macro , this is essential! (and obvious, but worth stating anyways).

20. ALWAYS clone + insure all. (costs me 2600 credits to insure, but i have a lot of stuff in my inventory.

21. when fighting multiple enemies, strafe the ones who aren't buffed to get them out of the way quickly. also, prioritize commando's and TKM's and kill them before they get in range. use burst runs to kite.

22. NEVER kneel or go prone.

that's all i can think of, atm.

remember, strafe2 with jawa on pistol/carbine users with composite on is absolutely deadly. there ham costs work against them completely.

I beg to differ. I have a Wookiee Master Rifleman with 4/0/0/4 in Marksman. I never fight point blank. I keep between 55-64 meters away from my opponent at all times. I use a variety of rifles but prefer a tricked out jawa ion on thearmored heads of my opponents. Armor simply does not help them much using stun based weapons.

"2)Mind buff, i dont care what you have to do to find and make friends with a master dancer or musican, try to only go into pvp with a buff or a very large group, cause the ablity to pound them with your specials is unmatched."

Those mind buffs are great but when the effects wear off go hide under a rock. Be prepared to suffer the exact same type of stat loss and downtime as when using spice.

"3)T21 sliced for dmg with a 30ish% dmg powerup, my t21 does 400-800 dmg without specials in non pvp, in pvp with a special like strafe 2 i was doing 600-800 dmg. If you cant get a t21, a laser rifle will have to do, but i dont like the low hits that can screw you."

This is simply one of the biggest misconceptions out there. A good laser rifle or T-21 sliced for speed and powered up for speed will do more damage infaster time than a slower T-21 with a damage powerup of equal percentage mods.

"4)No snipershot, it costs ham, even a full mind buff by a dancer drains to fast it you use it, so only use it if its really nessisary"

I use snipershot to great effectiveness in large raids. It is used to deathblow your opponent without having to move in close quarters with the defending enemy. I get more kills per raid this way than any other class save for another rifleman using it. If your worried about mind drain start foraging for onions they restore 500mind pool points instantly.

"5)macros in pvp dont work so well, try to make a combat bar in your quick keys that is seperate from your normal one but similar, so you can get to know all your specials not just mindshot. if you have strafe shot 2 that is the way to go, except if you notice they're health and action are 3x there mind, then they are buffed and you should go with Mindshot3."

I always adapt the attack to the enemy targets ham bar. Most armored opponents have tiny mind-pools due to armor encubrance and poor point distribution at creation and stat migration. If their mind pool looks smaller than the other stats stack on your bleeds and use headshot attacks. Drains to your own mind pool can be reduced by selecting the right powerups and adapting your weapon choice according to your opponent.

"6)dont do dot attacks like bleed unless they are running away, or they are another rifleman. and dont use specials against another rifleman unless you know you are higher lvl and have a better gun."

I really love targeting the mind pool on most foes. Mindshot 1 and 2 are the first attacks I make, their effects stack,Mind Bleeds Own ! Then it is simply a matter of staying 50-60 meters away and spaming headshot against every class with the possible exception bounty hunters using eyeshot unless they have a tiny mind pool.

For master riflemen speed is a non-issue. Damage is most important.

and what's the point in a bleed if you can kill the guy in two shots anyway? strafe2 with high damage t21 is right in that 800 pt 1 shot incap range. at worst, 3 shots should incap, 4 is a virtual guarantee-- why waste 2 shots on bleeds?

Krayt dlt20a with a high dmg slice. and a dmg powerup. Or just get an exceptional rifle that unsliced does 500+ dmg and a speed of about 4 with ham costs of 13 across the board.

I usually go for mind. Keep a backup krayt jawa sliced on me for composite armor. Never ever use a t21. Sure its ok . I mean really. alot of these tactics you have will not work since you don't duel with buffs etc. PvP yea. But I really don't think pvp prooves much. Dueling people is what its all about. Rarely do I have to use strafeshot2. It also has the lovely affect of multiple targets. Have you ever ran into a raid with strafeshot2. and Fire 1 shot and have 3 people and 5 pets on you cause you hit them all? I never use a t21, because you cant heal in a duel. So why bother wasting all my mind in 3 shots. then get owned by another rifleman or a bounty hunter. Would rather use a dlt20a and hit for 300+ a shot and only cost me a 4th of the mind. I will shoot faster than a7 speed t21 to. Composite isn't always a must. I usually use all comp except helm unless I am fighting another rifleman or a bh. I usually carry nuetron pixie to. Going into a fight with muon isn't going to help you if u die extremely fast from action shots or whatever. Tailor to who you fight.

Another good macro is Flurry Shot/Suppression fire. It dizzy knockdowns people. Spraysticks are useless. If u try and fight someone in comp with a spraystick. U better get off about 40 shots b4 they got off a few. lol.

these are some good tips, i know some of your skills and experences differ from mine, which is why i posted with my tactics and asked for yours.

and yes snipershot is great for large raids, most of my experence since i hit master has been taking over theed with my TKM friend while mind buffed, and i can get really low on mind if i am not careful, and unless i am scared of them getting up or getting healed i dont use snipershot.

Also im still working on the perfect quick key bar, 12 keys is not enough imo, and the secandary ones are sometimes hard to hit in a heated battle.

all while i was non master i would pray for speed slices but now its all about dmg because i can fire once per second. Having all the guns at my disposal is great but is also hard to quickly change guns in a fast paced battle.

Now we just have to come up with a way to live through being hit with stopping shot, those 10 seconds of nothing can be your death. Cause most pvp battles dont last longer than 10 seconds.

I should of mentioned i was also testing my new armor, i wanted to see if i could kill my TKM friend at point blank without KD. And i did
