It is the first area attack we get. That's right, the novice marksman skill: /pointblankarea, or whatever it is.

I was hunting low level mobs in a small group yesterday (Rogue Corsec base on Corillia) and I was spamming this. I could pull for my squad, then when I get aggroed by four of five of the runts, I spam this shot. NO POINT BLANK PENALTIES! Hitting nearly every shot with my uber tusken (4.9sec, 222 mx dmg) at zero meters was amazing. They were shooting pistols, so I didn't even suffer from 2.5x dmg.

So, all you novice riflemen, you without any AoE attacks (like me), perk up your ears. Just because it is given in the novice box of marksman doesn't mean it doesn't have its uses.

I think I was doing normal dmg to each individualNPC surrounding me.

I have a whole bank of function keys dedicated to point-blank "situations". If you are not a master, it might be a good idea to equip the spraystick in this case as well PB multiple (if you get the chance to fire before incapped... some NPC will pull out a club or 2, you get lucky sometimes tho...). Carefull, it takes action and you might nothave "tuned" your HAM for that.

Indeed, though anymore I try not letting anything that close to me, and if something gets so close, I stand up and draw my sword. Snickersnack
