Thread: Poll and discussion: Master Marksman and Rifleman?
I went master Marksman because i wanted to mess around with some BH missions. The speed bonus is nice.
but in all honesty I have a feeling that when the nerf bat swings I wanna be able to get back on my feet and into a ranged weapon as fast as possible, so with carb and pistol all most at novice lvl I'm ready to jump the wagon when they PRY MY RIFLE FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS
How many rifleman are also master marksman?
Do you recommend this?
Or is it okay to skip master marksman and spend the points on other professions?
Would you only give the master marksman points up only when you reached master rifleman?
Or should all riflemen try to be master marksmen as well?
Curious on people's thoughts and experience.
master sharpshooter
never mastered marksman, the big diff. with mastering marksman is that you can spam strafe 2 at 1sec instead of 1.8/2 seconds....and with the ham costs.....well.....
the ranged support line is very handy, suppression fire gives you a couple seconds to take off from a creature in melee range and /warningshot ; /peace is a life saver. (x x x4 marksman)
I actually asked the same question a few days ago. Im glad to know others are struggling with the same problems I am. Not really glad, but Im sure you understand my meaning.I have Master Marksman already and have decided to keep it untilI need the skill points for rifleman. I figure that by then I will be far enough along that the slight speed difference wont be missed. Thats the hope anyway.

Dont waste points on master marksen unless you really need. I had it and dropped it, and the carbine tree for more pistol skills(mainly the Trickshot tree). It makes my skills better since it has high defense mods!! I mean +40 is alot and to have it combine with the rifle defense monds, gives you +50!!
I was a 4-4-4-4 marksman and started rifleman. I evenutally sold all the pistol and carbine stuff back because I ran out of skill points and didnt want to give up stuff like Medic.
But if I could it all over again, I would pick a weapon.. pistol, rifle, or carbine.. and stick with it and go right to the Elite profession without wasting time on the other weapons.
Just my opinion, but unless you are going to need Master Marksman for your elite profession (i.e. Bounty Hunter) , then I wouldn't waste my time with it.

i am master rifle/master marksman. I tried dropping master marksman one day and picked it up again the next day- i couldn't live without my +95 speed. heh
that said, i've just made a deal for a +5 rifle speed tape, and i lewted a +2 rifle speed tape as well. So i will be dropping master marksman and using the points for scout (yaay! i'll be able to run uphill again) - but i will still have my master marksman speed. (actually, i'll be +97 rifle speed!).
i may miss the minor drop in defenses - but since i'm buffed all the time (doctor) it won't matter too much.

I was master rifleman and I was just fine with out master marksman... with a cowardly gurreck, I spam strafeshot2 on Dark Troopers that are attackin my pet, and I can take them down before my gurreck hit half life.... just work to master, don't worry about doing anything else until you get master though.... I stopped half way, and I wish I didn't for that period of time... I was useless, when I hit Master, they might as well have giving me the title GOD.... it was deadly.
but now I am going fencer, to see what melee combat is all about, I'm enjoying it alot right now...
