Thread: Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Conceal Shot is a bleed shot...

...and yet when I attacked a DT the other day with Conceal Shot, one of the shots caused him to bleed. Didn't make much sense to me at all, and didn't help that bleeding somehow gives an NPC immediate awareness of your location, causing it to instantly attack you. Anyone else experience this?

You are right. Concealshot is not a bleed shot. But it has nothing to do with the recent patch. This started happening several patches ago. It happens to other specials andother professions. At some point, attacks started producing small, random bleeds. Some have speculated it has to do with doing high damage, but I personally feel it has to do with wounding. The original Strategy guide made a connection between bleeding and wounds. For the longest time, that was a bogus connection, but I suspect they corrected some code which made small bleeds occur when a target takes wounds under some circumstances as they had originally intended. But whatever the cause, the bottom line is that it is not Concealshot doing it, per se. It can happen with just about any special and other professions have noted similar bleeds happening when using non-bleed specials. It is just that it sucks big time when ithappens with Concealshot.

I know, the random chance of causing a bleed was put in for Conceal Shot to stop us from soloing the high level MOBS in the game, except for on the exceptionally rare occasion that /concealShot will not put a -1 tick bleed on something.

The Devs didn't want us Soloing Krayt and Nightsister Elders

It was a balance fix.. sucks but makes things a bit more interesting.

it happens to alot of attacks not just conceal shot, we just notice it as more of a pain when we are trying to conceal shot something It happens with my jedi all the time, i just use default attacks and a bleed will appear on the target. I think someone said that if an attack causes alot of wounds it also has a chance of adding a bleed.

Hmm ok, good to know that other people know what I'm talking about because their attacks have caused it too...

But if that's the case and random bleeds are intended, then I think that whole thing with bleeding causing the target to automatically find and charge you should be changed
