Thread: Using Power Ups at Master Rifleman level!

Hi

I found the use of Speed power ups very useful for making the grind up to Master.

Also when in small groups and not so vulnerable I would switch to a Damage power ups because the speed was not so much of a critical factor.

So I made Master Rifleman a couple of weeks ago and do the following a) Find best damage T21 I could find in Farstar (circa 400 unsliced), add good damage slice I believe is around 32% which took me up to just over 500 damage. Then I add a 30% damage power up bringing the T21 up to 620 damage or so - ready to Solo EnragedRancor!

Of course at Master you notice a big difference that the power up makes to your weapon when you are delivering standard non special shots to something like an Enraged Rancor on Dathomir...BUT......I am probably going through 1 power up per Engaged Rancor!

So my point is that the increased speed you get at Master means that if you consistently use power ups then you will a) need to buy crates and crates of them b) your weapon will deteriorate incredibly quickly and c) you literally have to change power ups every 100 seconds or so.

So whilst I really appreciate the extra damage I can do with power ups I do think I will stop using them because of factors a), b) and c) above!

Anyone have the same experience or findings? Are you staying with power ups or no longer bothering now that you are at Master?

Os is there al alternative?

I have found the same thing.

After destroying 5 T21 rifles in a month from excessive use of power ups im trying to find a way to cut down on this.

Sure i can make enough cash to replace the rifles as fast as i break them (even with repairs), the main hassle is getting them sliced!.

At master lvl we really need to have better control over the damage these do to our weapons, maybe an option to have the weapon serviced by ourselfs when in a town near a weapon crafting station.

By serviced i dont mean repaired but just have the weapons toughness increased so it can take the abuse from our fast firing rate.

Yeah, I notice powerups really killing my weapons in the way of condition. So basically, I'll use powerups on poorly-sliced weapons (because those can be replaced) and I won't use them on my uber-sliced weapons (Except on special occasions, like I meet someone in PvP I really want to kill).

When I was master rifleman, for me it was all about the damage per shot. My main T21 has a max damage just over 500. Toss on a damage powerup and you can solo almost anything. I went against rancors and just use autofire. Let them hit me since I'm buffed and they'll be dead long before they can put any real dent into my HAM. I so love my T21!!!
