Hey i need some help on deciding my template. I'm a Bounty Hunter and with 33 pts left at master we have very little to dabble in. I've been dedicing what should i invest those points in, and i looked at rifleman as a possibility. I like how you guys can hit hard from far away. Also that sniper shot deathblow from 64 m? That could save me from that TKA ability "Force Of Will". Now i was wondering if i do decide to spend my last remaining skill points in this proffesion what tree is the most usefull. I already am going for 4/0/0/0 to get that sniper shot, now i just have enough points to get up to tree 3 in any other line. What would you guys recommend? Go for the defence? Or more power shots? Mind bleeds? I'm not too familiar with this proffesion as you can see lol.

But if you guys could help me decided that woudl be really great

Thanks for your time

I honestly don't think that rifleman will help you out as a bounty hunter. Unless your using rifles to DB only your not going to have the speed to use a T21 effectivly. I think at box 3 you are only at like 55% or 60 % speed

Rifleman is not really a dabbler profession. It is comparatively weak until master.

The others are correct, Rifleman is not a dabbler's profession, primarily because without the speed, you are firing painfully slowly. Also, Rifleman's defenses, I believe, are not much better overall than a BH's. Pistol or Carbine are better choices overall for a BH, I think, because you already have weapon skills in those lines.

On the other hand, if you are looking to Rifle to backup your skills and not as something to rely on as a primary weapon, it may be workable, especially if you are intent on getting Snipershot. So here are going to be your choices.

Accuracy IV will give you Snipershot, and all the accuracy modifers except for what you get a Master, so you will miss less with Rifle. It also gives you Mindshot2 (which is only marginally useful except in a long fightbecause of the bleed nerf). It gives you Headshot3, which is our highest damage mind pool attack, but it also uses the most of your own mind, so unless you have a high focus (i.e., buffed to at least 1200), you will be better off using Headshot2, which you already have at Master Marksman. Surpriseshot is at Accuracy III, but it is rarely used.

So, the question is, what else to get? The Concealment line (the second column) will give you additional Ranged defenses, which BH could use. It also gives you Concealshot, which is only really effective in PvE. At Concealment III, you get the passive Sneak ability, which allows you to move in cover, but since no one uses /TakeCover much, it is not that big of a deal.

Counter-Sniping III will give you Flushingshot2 (as well as Flushingshot1 and StartleShot1). Flushingshot2 is our highest damage shot outside of Strafeshot2, which is at Master. In fact, it has even a higher DPS than Strafeshot2 until you get enough speed tapes or what have you to hit the cap. Counter-Sniping III also has what little Defense vs. xxxx we get in Rifleman.

However, what I would recommend if you are going to do this, is that you go up Rifle Special Abilities. I recommend this for two reasons. First, this is where our speed comes from. Going to Special Abilities III will give you a Rifle Speed of 65 compared to 35 if you do not go up this line.Second, we get a big melee to-hit penalty against us while holding a rifle. On the other hand, this line also has a total of +40 to melee defense of which you will be able to get +30. Now, that does not help us much at all while we are holding a rifle, but it does stack with other melee defenses when holding otherweapons.Considerning BH's melee defenses, this is a good boost for you when not holding a rifle. As another bonus of this line, you get Flurryshot1 and Flurryshot2, both of which dizzy, the latter being an area effect shot.

On the other hand, bear in mind that if you spend all 33 points in Rifleman, you will have no points left over for Novice Medic, so you will not be able to heal yourself. This is something to seriously consider.

Overall, as I said, you may find some additional Pistol or Carbine skills more effective for you, but if you are going Rifle, consider the factors above.
