Im doing rifleman and from what ive heard is that you would wanna mix rifleman with tka or some profession with good melee defense.

you can use conceal shot to solo anything in the game, just as long as dont cause the mob to bleed (rifleman places random bleeds) or it get close enough to see you, it wont aggro. also i can solo any NS except spellweaves and elders, most of the time before they even reach me, with headshot3. you might want to have a mastered melee profession to save yourself when something rushes you. TKM or fencer are great choices. pikeman is alright but tends to be slow, its defences are great and it has some very good pve area attacks, i used to LOVE hitting my area dizzy/kd on NS and watch them flop around for 30 seconds. if you master rifle you can technically solo anything if you dont put a bleed, and if you do end up placing a bleed it would be good if you had a melee to back yourself up

Rifleman is definitely a professions that you can be independent with. I'm leveling to Master Rifleman right now, solo, and I have had no real problems besides the average random bleed every once in awhile as someone mentioned. Taking on a melee defense profession is definitely a good idea(I'm doing Pikeman). Also, it's a good idea to have novice medic. This gives you the ability to use stims to heal yourself when you get injured.

Rifleman is probably the only combat profession that can solo exceptionally well and do it without using any armor or buffs at all. When you do use buffs, all you really need is a shot or two of Vasarian brandy and you're good to go. Using Conceal Shot, you can fire on MOBs until the cows come home without being detected , butthere's always asmall chance that you willland a random 1 point bleed on a target, and if you do happen to get that random bleed, you can simply stop firing and move to about 100m from the MOB and it should come after you alone instead of with a bunch of friends. This is a pretty rare occurance, and if you find it happening too often for your taste, you can get a decent combat droid or bio engineered CL10 pet to grab the agro from that single MOB until you can finish it off.
You should have enough skill points to keep Master Weaponsmith and Master Artisan, and still be able to get Master Rifleman with a few points to spare. If you have enough skill points left over, you may want to get Novice Medic to round out your solo no-buff capabilities.

Lets put it this way: If you can't Master Rifleman with it being your only combat profession, don't dabble. It won't be worth it. Take Swordsman instead.
