What is the best MR combo for looting/bringing down high end mobs? I thought of Commando, however was worried about the lack of defenses. I haven't had much practice time lately, as my server has been down alot. Any advice you offer would be much appreciated. Thx!

Seriously - while you can still solo loot mobs if you are grouped you kill them 3-10x faster
but for a solo'r
Rifleman/+any ranged combat profession now will serve very very well
- Rifle+ Cm for good damage and decent healing abilities
- Rifle+ Doc = pvp god (barely killable now)
- Rifle+ smuggler or pistoleer = they can't get close enough to hurt you
- Rifle+ commando = big booms, lots of aggro , Cool Toys for the Cool Boys
- Rifle+ carbineer = front line trooper for pve or pvp - makes us similar to what we were before the cu + new nifty abilities
- Rifle+ melee is not so effective anymore as your bonuses don't stack and your specials don't carry over very well - but it allows for you to fill the tank and the nuker role (multitalented!)

I am finding TKM/RifleM with 4040 commando to be a VERY nice combo.
The TKM and commando defenses and perma armour (48% reduction against all damage) plus the comm and rifle damage is great.
For defenses a triple master melee has 235 gen melee and 170 ranged (plus some more depending on the wpn equipped, usually 30 more)
My setup has rifleman and commando damage with 185 R 175 M (plus 30 to each with a rifle or a hvy wpn)
Not a bad tradeoff imo.
