Thread: What are you using for area attack now for rifle? if anything

Since rifle has no area attack now,has anyone tried pickup up pistol or carbineer to get the area from them? If so,does it work pretty well?

Just about everyone who isn't M Rifle / M Ranger, I'd imagine. It makes sense in every way possible to combine Rifles with another ranged profession, both for the specials and the cumulative skill bonuses. I'm leaning towards M Rifles / M Pistols / BH 0-0-4-0 (Pistols line) / Scout 4/0/0/0, or something to that effect. Fan shot gives me my area attack, and with this combo I can stick almost any state imaginable - dizzy, kd, snare, root, stun, intimidate... mixing up all those pitches is great fun, but if you want a real AOE focus for engaging multiple targets (not adviseable unless you're in a group who can tank them all for you, otherwise you'll draw WAY too much aggro), then look at Carbines or Commando instead of pistol.

Is fan shot the one area shot that does the most damage? I wasnt sure if it was better than full auto area or not
