i know adding another weapon boosts us even more but we could counter act with like lower damage

like Shock Gauntlets that do electricity damage but only do like 40-90 damage do keep it fair

plus it would just be nice to see different weapons

now its like every elite proffesion uses one weapon

diversity isnt so bad

pvp = jawa if they don't have stun armor, T21 or DXR6b if they do
pve = T21 or DXR6b or whatever damage type the MOB has the lowest resists on

The previous poster is correct.

I use three rifles for PvE, but it could easily be just 2 if money is not a concern.

Main weapon is T21 -- "Say hello to my little friend..." for MOST high-level MOBs.

Alternate Weapon is DXR6B (acid damage) rifle... for those with high energy resists.

Backup is a very high-damage Laser for busting lairs and lesser (3.5K or less) MOBs.

The only reason I mention the Laser is because good T21's are pricey, so I prefer to tear up my much cheaper Laser on the lesser MOBs and for finishing off lairs. But if buying T21's is not an issue, then don't bother with a Laser. (Money is no longer an issue with me, but I bought a couple of crates of good Lasers a long time ago, so I figure I might as well use them.)

I'm on Eclipse, and knowing that the FS grind was coming, I recently bought a crate of T21's whose base (unsliced) Max Damage was 404. Since I am also Master Smuggler, I sliced all 25 of them. I don't remember all of the slices, but I do remember that I got 12 Damage slices and 13 Speed slices (which I didn't need).
I think the highest 5 damage slices were 28, 29, 30, 31 and 31%. The rest were low or average.
You can do the math, but most of the damage sliced ones are in the 490's or low 500's.
Without spending a fortune, plan on getting a decent one between 500-520 max damage.

I have heard of T21s with base damage just over 410.
But PLEASE keep in mind that 34% and 35% damage slices are VERY RARE. I just sliced a DXR6b for a guy the other night and got a 35% damage slice, but that was the first one I had seen in a couple of months. 33% is only slightly more common.

So if you could find a base 410 damage T21 ...AND get a 30% slice on it... you would have a max dmg 533 T21.
Now get ready for all those who have exceptional or high-priced ones to respond........

i would add that those are stocked and probably have a mind cost of over 100 (which is another good reason to keep a laser rifle around for PvE).

i'm a bothan rifleman so my main T21 is using a stock from the emperor's retreat (adds dmg, -0.5s and no ham costs) - i got a good weaponsmith to make and slice it and it's 488 dmg, 6.8s with 72 mind cost. for me it's worth the lower dmg.

my main dxr6b is around 490 dmg, 7.4s and 31 mind cost (looted)

Morticide is correct. Those 404 dmg T21's are stocked and have a Mind cost of 104.
I (perhaps incorrectly) assumed you would be on the typical "South Beach Rifleman's Diet" of Brandy and Ahrisa.
If you are trying to survive without mind boosts, you will definitely be looking at a decrease in the max dmg.

Same with the DXR6B rifles. Mine is max damage 497, but also has a Mind cost of 94.

I have some 88-HAM Lasers that are like 580 max damage, and some that are 550 max damage for only 53 HAM.
None of the ones I mention are looted or are specially made (one-of-a-kind models) and you should be able to find similar rifles for yourself.

Jalgraxa...
Some random thoughts for you: I am both Master Rifleman and Master Smuggler. They are both a blast to play (no pun intended). However they do NOT complement each other very well... Smuggler brings nothing to rifleman and vice-versa. Well, that's not entirely true.. I killed a NS Elder the other night with the help of 4 Feign Deaths. But the truth is MR and MS will use up most of your skill points and leave you with only one combat skill. I can honestly NOT remember the last time I held a pistol.

I have been MR for over a year, MS for 10 months. I have totally enjoyed both. Not wanting to drop either of them is what kept me from Hologrinding (plus my next holo profession was Master Dancer ... which is fine for some, but not my cup of tea).

I will have to drop one of them soon for some extra FS Skill Points. It will be Smuggler that I drop. The bottom line is that as long as I have Master Rifle, there is almost no place in this Galaxy I can not go. And I can make more money than a Smuggler. The Smuggler boxes I will hold onto the longest will be the Feign Death and the second slice box (for slicing mission terms).
