Thread: Is Cover Ever Going to be fixed?

It works in a extremely limited way as you must be on near absolute flat ground to get cover to work. One can get cover to work by using any flat surface such as the doorsteps of player houses and guild halls to apply the cover state and hope they don't have to move far to engage their target. Also, while testing out cover over the weekend I found that your own swoop will break your cover and/or prevent you from taking cover. Granted it makes sense not to leave anything tagged with you as the owner out before you conceal yourself though it's somewhat silly that a swoop counts as a person/npc/creature and can break/prevent cover.

Ok.. This is what I mean. RIght now members of your own group break your cover. This is insane. If taking cover in the military worked like this "Oh no by Fire Team Mates know where I am. That means the bad guys can to." shessh....

This really needs to be fixed...

I haven't had that many problems with Cover. While it is testy, I find that if I spam it enough I can take Cover on almost any type of ground. Flat, sloping, hilly....

The poster is right, it is dumb to have cover fail because a group member can see you.

HOWEVER

Cover should still fail if you have a bike or a pet out (a big ol probot or an X34 parked next to you kind of sticks out like a sore thumb dont you think?) Not stealthy at all. Might as well have a huge arrow floating above you head that says "HERE I AM!!!"

In all fairness it's also dumb to have group visibility and not have group tefs. In fact quite alot is dumb. Thankfully theres alot of good stuff too.

I get spotted by lvl 1 mobs while under cover from miles away. I must be doing something wrong

He did. Just a much harder fix then assumed.

Just for clairity... Are the Devs focusing on Cover's issues with terrain, player groups, or both?

I would think they are dealing with the terrain issue

I hope they will deal with the group issue... but it is not quite as game breaking.
