1. MINDshot is a Damage over Time attack: the damage it deals to the mind pool, per'hit' or 'tick' of damage..is the number you initially land the shot for. If you are unsatisfied with the initial hit, shoot MINDshot again, until you get a number you want, that's the damage it will continue to deal.

2. NO. Surprise shot does not work properly, prone, or under cover, or anything else, it's straight jacked. It only works with a carbine equipped, it has the animation of an AE attack, and it says "wild shot" when you use it.


3. Take cover currently blows, the defense bonuses and time taken to go prone, use it, and stand up before taking it up the rear end: are not worth it.


4. Rifle Crawl speed bonuses, are jacked. they do NOTHING, no noticable speed improvents crawling with a rifle.


5. The melee damage penalty for Riflemen is 200% (double for those of you who have no math skills) it's not 3.5x or 5000x or any other ridiculous number you people spew out, it's a by 2 multiplier.


6. yes, a rifleman can kill another player in PVP in 1 hit, with a half way decent headshot roll. Armor doesn't filter the damage enough...a Helmet made out of Mithril spooky ultimate Composite chitin what the hell ever..isn't gonna' help you. (Current armor just doesn't filter damage enough to stop a near 2000 damage headshot)


7. Half the posts made on thes boards are by people with DLT20a Rifles, who just hit Rifle 3 in the marksman tree, they have no clue, they're morons, they're not even 'Riflemen" yet. Another portion of the posters are Novice Riflemen, who expected to hit novice riflemen, get a 500-1000 damage T21 soon as they hit it, go out and start 1 tappin' Kimogila's and Seething Bol's..SHUT THE HELL UP. Climb the tree, do the work, find out what works, what doesn't, how it works, why it sucks or why it's good..before you open your pie hole.

NIce post angry. I think a lot of people dont have the patience to fully exlplore a class before yapping about it.

Man..my post was riddled with typos: even the topic was..LOL. oh well, wrote it early this morning when the servers went down: the sentiments hold true still.


One thing that will royally piss me off is if Riflemen start lagging behind other classes in raw damage output, as it is the only badge of honor the rifle profession holds, no other utility attacks or anything. We are wizards: We cannot tank, we have nill damage absorption capabilities, no close range utility or effectiveness: we do mass damage at range that's it: and I hope we stay at the top of the food chain in this neighborhood.

I agree completely. Riflemen are DESIGNED to completely OWN anything and everyone at long range. Other people have a hard time grasping that concept. What they don't realize is that we absolutely suck at close range. But if you are caught in my sights at 50-64 meters, you might as well get ready for the cloning chamber. That's the way it is.

I keep hearing im a rifleman i'm a rifleman, and I ask them how do they like MS2 or HS3..... "HUH?" when do I get those?

Angry I'm with ya a hundred percent .



Rifleman is devastating , people just need to get better weapons and more time under their belts with the skills .



By the way , did you see my other post about getting around the Take Cover tumbling penalty ?



If not let me repost in the vain attempt to prove I know something .



When you use Take Cover from standing , you flop onto the ground and you attempt to take cover . I'm sure you know , sometimes it works and sometimes it don't .



BUT the little flashy green man that swirls around you is the only real part of the skill . The flop is something that gets added once you pick up one of the other abilities , forget what it is .



You can bypass the flop by going into prone" manually " , that is , with the " Prone " command macro located in Macros / Other .



Once in Prone THEN use Take Cover that ya have bound to one of your hotkeys . You will bypass the " you can not do XYZ while tumbling " error message .



You can also spam your Take Cover until it " sticks " , with no tumbling penalty . You can also use your MaskScent or whatever else you want instantly with no delay .

Also , do you know if take cover keeps us OFF of other players radars ? If not it seems pretty worthless , except in a strictly one on one sniper vs. sniper situation . Also good to know about the rifle crawl speed , I will not attempt to get it yet .



What I'm doing is going for the crawl speed bonus that you get in the ranger skill set . I hear that Terrain Negotiation works on running speed over terrain from 0 -50 and improves CRAWL speed from 50 - 100 . So , maybe with the crawl speed modifier from Ranger , THEN the crawl speed bonus from Rifleman ? Just throwing stuff out there .



And ALSO what are you doing if / when the MOBs get in Melee range ? I have a bunch of different strategies I use , all of them effective and I'm soloing all but the absolute toughest red con MOBs on LOK .



Well , nice post even if it's a bit angry but what the hell lol . Any use of the word piehole gets points in my book heheh .
